How long will 780 SLI last me ?

I wouldn't say that..
with next gen consoles being released this month and 4K displays starting to come down big time in price ..

I would guess quiet a few PC gamers are going be using 4k displays in much less then 3 years
You can already buy a 39" 4k display for $699..;)

Plus the OP may already be gaming at 1600p...

which 4k monitors in the UK are coming down in price big time?

No you need to get rid of those crummy old 780's for nice new shiny ti's, send me a trust and i will take the old crappy ones off you as a favour

Cant believe your thinking getting rid of them, there awesome cards and will last a year at least :)_

yeah...try 3+ depending on whats out at that time. they have the grunt for it, the Vram and there are two of them!

With the release of the 780 Ti super juice black steroid edition is it worth me keeping hold of my 780's, Trading them in or waiting for Maxwell ?

*EDIT* Bearing in mind I did only get both about 4 months ago.

Yeahhhh, Because that's what I asked isn't it, Troll somewhere else.

lol its exactly what you are asking. Only reason to want 780ti's would be if your 780's couldn't play what you want. As you already know your 780's can play what you want (only 4 months old don't ya' know). Ti is a small increase Maxwell should offer more, but still not going to be as quick as sli 780's.

I bought the sli 580's when they came out, and so what people have said already about it lasting 2 years has been very correct, it has only been this year that games have started to slip away from my setup.

I now have 1x 780 with plans on buying a 2nd for sli in a few days time. I do plan on keeping these for another 2 years :)

I kinda understand your "situation" albeit it's a luxury problem :). I too like to have the newest in graphics and always have a step into the "new frontier". I like benching and gaming equally much. Depending on how the GTX 780Ti turns out to perform in 1440/1600p situations I may consider going for 2x 780Ti and sell the 780's.

Like you (it sounds at least). I can afford, if desired to get 2 x 780Ti cards, hell if really wanted could get 10 and it wouldn't be the end of the world financially.

The point is though, that there comes a certain something from not just literally throwing money away.

2 x GTX 780s can currently be had for £700 if you look in the right place, taking that down to circa £550 after you sell the games included in the nvidia promotion and the ones included in the box of this graphics card.

So we have £550 Vs £1150ish for 2 x 780Ti (after games are sold for 780Ti also, the Ti is going to retail in the UK for £650+)

For around 10% increase in performance, because let's be honest these Ti cards aren't going to overclock well Vs 780 vanilla cards...

10%! Increase for more than double the outlay.

That's madness, but if you're cool with that then go for it :) it's only madness in my opinion, and who cares. Do what you want but just be aware that it's not a "good deal" on the value front.
