Best place to look for contracts now?

Hi guys. I have been eyeing up the Nexus 5 for a bit now so a phone of this caliber is what I am looking for. Nothing MASSIVE, but quite powerful, good camera (N5 seems quite good all in all), plentiful features etc. Something to last 2 years which is durable, reliable and not enormous.

At the moment I pay £18 a month with Orange. I can upgrade on the 25th of this month. Otherwise, the contract ends in early Jan 2014. I have a feeling the Nexus 5 is not gonna make it onto the Orange network as a contract phone? I'm no expert though.

So, I want to be paying similar to what I pay now. For £18 I get 600 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB data, a whole array of magic numbers over the years and also phone insurance. I got my Nokia Lumia 800 on this deal for free when they initially came out, so for me, it was good at the time.

I don't want to go on Vodafone... but will consider other options. I haven't really got a spare 300 quid to just bust out on a new phone right now hence looking at new contract deals.

I'd like less minutes (300 would be plenty), more data (2-3GB would be fine) but good network coverage in Stoke-on-Trent.

Thanks for any help! :D

take a look at a virgin sim only deal, you can get 30 day rolling contract for £15 with unlimited text, calls and data (supposedly anyways, likely got a limit) - note I haven't used them, I'm still with t-mobile for another couple of months but thats the direction I'm looking at the moment

Last time I checked they used t-mobile/orange network

Otherwise it's a case of looking on hotukdeals etc for a good deal to pop up with cashback...

the point of the nexus 5 is the sim free price.

If you can't afford to buy it outright you might as well go with a galaxy S4. If you go for a Nexus on a contract you'll be paying over the odds. (£27 a month from what I've seen, which is £650 over two years).

Also take a look at the Xperia Z1 (waterproof and 20mp camera!). I've seen a good contract for this phone at www.mobiles.co.uk - think it was something like £25 a month on o2, free phone, unlimited texts/data and 600 mins.

edit: if you go for the 16GB N5 and Virgin VIP it's £660 over two years, so not much in it. I initially posted this thinking the N5 plus a £10 giffgaff sim was a more popular combo. (£540 over two years, saving ~100 quid)

edit2: I have the same dilemma, but also considering the LG G2.

Yup, the contracts are here. ^^

Doesn't make sense when you can get this for under £13 a month

All-you-can-eat data
200 minutes
5,000 texts

On contract the Nexus 5 will be a rip off, but off course paying up front the first time can be a pain. But in the long run for the Nexus 5 paying up front will work out a lot cheaper, and give you freedom to move networks more frequently.

On contract the Nexus 5 will be a rip off,

it's not though.

£27 a month x 24 = £650 (mobiles.co.uk - black 16gb Nexus 5)

£300 + Virgin VIP (£15 a month, £180 a year ) x 2 years = £660

You will save a few quid going with giffgaff or three's £12.90 tariff, but you won't get ripped off.
