Maisie @ 11 weeks :)

Sadly I lost both my GSD this year, Storm aged 11 and Krueger aged 7 both to tumours, they were not related or from the same breeder. Here they are enjoying a holiday in Yarmouth.

That's very sad to here. Stunning dogs.

Miss my boxer like mad, the daft sod.

When we eventually get another dog we are both arguing between a Alsatian (mrs) or a Boxer (me).

Mrs's mum had a great big Alsatian, his main was huge like lions. Lovely looking dogs. His back end went and it was costing her mum thousands to keep him alive, eventually she had to give-in and come to terms that he needed to be put down. Awesome dog though.

Sorry for your loss.
I lost 1 of my 2 cats earlier this year and it was tough.
To lose both would've been really tough.
Are you getting some new puppies?

Sorry to hear about the loss, we recently had to have one of our cats put down due to him having a blood clot and not being able to walk. He was 19 at the time so lived a good life. Been my cat since I was one year old :/

Thank you, I have always had GSD so my opinion as to which to get would be very biased. Before this year I would have argued the point that a GSD has a longer average life span but to lose Krueger at 7 years 6 months shows anything can happen

Sorry to hear this :( must be a terrible thing to experience.
I can't even begin to describe the pain. I read an article where a dog was being referred to as a 'pet' I see a pet as a rabbit or hamster, a dog is a companion.

No not at the moment, I have had a dog in my life for the last 35 years, this year losing both has been quite an emotional event. I will probably get another dog one day but not for a while.

Sorry to hear that, it isn't easy saying goodbye even when you know it is best for them.

Our dog and cat died in the same year in 2011, I was distraught when my dog died but I didn't feel anything when my cat passed away.

I was very close to the cat but I just see cats as not a "companion" just a anmal you keep in the house.

Lovely photograph of the dogs on the sofa :)

GSD is definitely my favourite breed without a doubt.

I can see it being a few years before I can have a dog :( even then I'll need to use some form of day care/dog walker - do any people in here use such services?

Not entirely sure how I'd feel about having a dog then shipping it out to someone else every day but I can't really see any other realistic option. Unless I opted for two dogs and a really big garden with lunchtime walks?
