Brazilian wandering spider found in Bananas

Maybe a few will escape the house, and start breeding like the False Widow Spider. :)

The bite can cause a long lasting painful hard on apparently, and scientists are researching the venom for erectile disfunction treatment! lol, listen on this video around 0:55 onwards! lol!

"Have you been bitten by a Brazilian wondering spider or are you just pleased to see me?"

If that's the case with packaged. What about loose bananas in the store? Or would they be from a different batch? I'll be on the lookout!

They were spiderlings and as such essentially harmless.

I also doubt they would have survived long enough in our climate to grow large enough to become dangerous.

Brazilian wandering spider found by the posters son in a box of bananas at Asda in Hamilton, Scotland. Kept as a pet for over a year, never handled, had to kill spider after we found out the species.
