currently looking to get a sim only plan now my Vodafone contract has expired

looking at the one plan from three 2000 mins unlimited date and a shedload of texts for £18 a month

anything of better value out there atm?

tethering would be nice as would a lot of data on a fast connection. need At least 1000 minutes and a couple of hundred texts a month

I'm in a similar position to be honest - I'm out of contract with Three so moved over onto their rolling monthly "Essential Internet SIM 600" that gives me 600 mins (about right), 5,000 texts (waaaay too many!) and 1GB of internet (usually fine but not this month - see below)

I've had a text from Three today to say that my internet usage is nearing the 1GB limit (probably down to the fact I've been playing with various phones in the last month, including the setup for my N5 today!)

Anyway, given that Three are granting all existing customers with a 4G enabled phone access to their 4G speeds in December I thought I would look into upgrading to their "The One" plan myself but the spud in the Three customer services says I can upgrade to any plan except that for some reason!?!?!

I guess I could give my notice, move away onto a pay monthly SIM and then back again but it seems an awful lot of hassle!! :(

Are there any other SIM-only deals that are around this sort of cost that allow tethering??

The 12 month version would save you £36 a year. :)

Try again, or at a store. You may have been unlucky and had a not very helpful person.

£15 unlimited calls sms data and calls to Europe

Does that allow tethering?

is vecton reliable provider because not only have i never heard of them but there is just too much unlimited in their plan. When I click on plan detail nothing but blank screen appears, so cant get access to fair usage policy.

Unlimited calls are subject to our fair use policy of a maximum of 3000 minutes.
Unlimited texts are subject to our fair use policy of a maximum of 3000 texts.

Standard rates apply to any usage in excess of our fair use policy limits.

Unlimited my bum.

I would say 3's one plan is the best to go for OP since it's truly unlimited, allows tethering and the 3G is pretty damn fast compared to other 3G networks. It's the only one I can see that OP requires.

Everything else everyone has mentioned has a FUP and/or doesn't allow tethering :p.

Thank for that :)

if that 3000 minutes includes call to Europe landlines and USA as they suggest in their £15 contract
its still mazing. Just find it too hard believe.

If 6gb is enough works out really cheap, I personally went with the 8GB versions which is great since you also get 12months spotify/sky sports.

I used to have Three but over the last few months they have gone to **** in London, last night me and my friends where out on the town and my mate with Three was off signal 50% of the time, this was across central London, and Greenwhich. It is a lot worse indoors, he never once got signal at a restaurant or bar, while I was enjoying 17mb 3g, and my gf had 50mb+ LTE on Vodafone.

If Three continue their stance of not letting me "upgrade" to their "The One Plan" then I might swap to GiffGaff on their £15 tariff giving me 400 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet!

Has anyone got any experience of GiffGaff signal and internet-speed wise??

I upgraded from sim 600 to the one plan sim only in the week of the sim only price reduction so I hope you got bad advice on your call, seems a weird rule to have brought in if they have done so.

Giffgaff were poorer in every aspect than three in the midlands.

I'm kind of stuck, I'm looking for 300 minutes, 300 texts, and 1.2Gb or more for about £12 per month to match my current payments (when I build in the cost of a new phone too).

Seeing as Three no longer have cashback, and I've just missed the Vodafone deal that expired on 31Oct, does anybody know of a tariff that is a bit heavy on the data but not OTT on minutes and texts?

The EE shop in Canary Wharf is advertising a rolling monthly sim with 8gb data for £16 per month. No idea if it's just that store or others too

It's totally area dependant. I usually get 4mb up/down in East London, but in Brighton I'm seeing a lot less (I'm in a darksport for all networks annoyingly). They use the O2 network so maybe ask a few friends in the same area how they find O2/giffgaff.

I used to be with o2 3 or 4 years ago and never had a problem with signal but I guess a lot can change over that sort of time!!

As long as it's semi-decent I'm inclined to swap over for a month and then swap back to Three if I can't find a better deal which should get me around the problem with Three! :D

Why do you have to upgrade?
Why not just cancel and buy a new three sim. Why swap for a month.

O2 are very poor for 3g speeds overall. They're one of the slowest oon average. So you might be lucky and live in a good area, but they have more poor areas than other networks for 3g.
