AFAIK, a regulatory requirement is that they should have the finance proposal signed to signify you are happy for them to apply for finance in your name.
 
I groaned when the dealer told me i was going to have a 116i for a few days. Pleased to say this was short lived. Such a good little car that feels quite quick for the bottom of the range model of the bottom of the range model! Don't get me wrong, it's never going to be an M135i but it certainly fell into the "acceptable" power category, unlike a lot of bottom of the range models which feel almost dangerously slow. Handled very well too.

On a side note, I loved the dump valve sound it made when coming off the gas :D
 
8.5 isn't that bad, suerly better than the equivalent of other manufacturers. And besides isn't there a 114 now so it isn't bottom of the range.

And yeah I should have piped up earlier the 114i is the bottom spec now 104bhp I believe!
