here are some pictures of what I have done so far. Gone for a 4.2ghz oc on the cpu and have upped the memory divider to bring the memory speed up.

I am a bit of a noob when it comes to overclocking so if anyone spots anything that I have done horribly wrong would appreciate the advice! what is a normal idle and load temp for this cpu when overclocked?

The ram is teamvulcan 2400mhz 8gb
CPU cooler is a phantek 140mm jobbie

Would be better if your screen shots showed it under load :) those don't really tell anyone anything due to the cpu down clocking. Can the memory not just be set to XMP?

Temps and volts look ok plenty of head room there.

What settings have you changed? There is a pretty good guide on the Gigabyte Z78OC thread if you wanna push things further.

What cooler are you using? I have same chip and board and need 1.3v to get to 4.5Ghz. gets toasty for me up there even with custom water. Into the high 70's :D

Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler - Orange

overclock settings thus far:

CPU VRIN Loadline - extreme
CPU -1.111v
CPU VRIN 1.8v
Multiplier 42x
RAM XMP - Profile 1

Aida64 for 4hrs, throw Prime95 in when you think you have a stable oc.

Temp wise as long as it doesn't throttle you're good.
