*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

I've still not had ours yet. Called the office and they said its still out for delivery, and should be here by 7pm.

I'm doubtful it is coming today - the same happened with my last Apple order, and I had to collect it the next day - but I'm happy to be wrong.
 
my 32GB 5s gold has already had some of its covering chipped off.. never give your phone to the wife to play collision effect! women just don't take care of gadgets the way we do.. I am going to now mark one of her shoes!

10 minutes to go, and a UPS van backs down the driveway.

Wife = Happy, but now sad at realisation that there is no sim card till tomorrow !

Congrats mate but mine didnt come so im pretty ****ed off about it as it said on the website it was out for delivery, even rung their customer service line to be told id definitely get it today.

Checked the website tracking at 7pm and it said package was not received at shipping depot, which means it was absolute BS that it would come today. ****ing imbeciles UPS are, why give wrong info if they arent going to deliver??.

Anyhow it should be here tomo but i wont be taking a day off but i will be ringing them to vent at them for me having to lose a days pay:mad:.

On another unrelated note, Arsenal won tonight so that makes me happy lol.
 
Rang the Apple store furthest away of my 2 nearest. Yesterday they were really helpful and advised best time to call. Today they wouldn't even say if the morning delivery had been and whether it would be worth calling back. Instead he just said "I'm not at liability to say" and hung up. :eek:
 
I popped into the Manchester one yesterday and they had the gold 64gb one in stock so i got it.

Forgot you need a different sim to the 4S though :(
 
^ Good point will call virgin and request a nano sim.

Tried 2 more Apple stores neither have Gold in 16GB but both were very helpful unlike my first try this morning.
 
Finally got my mums gold iphone5s lol, just been to the apple store to get a case and screen protector but not so sure on the case so might return it and get something else for her.

Also had to do a sim swap as at the moment she is using the iphone4 on a voda contract so swapped out to the nano sim.

Didnt get a chance to set it up but i will later tonight. Most of her stuff is backed up on the icloud but seeing as the useless monkeys at apple couldnt answer my question...would her whatsapp messages and history be also backed up to the icloud or is it just best to do a back up via itunes then restore the new iphone from the backup??

Sorry if i touched a nerve but one thing i do not like or stand for is when someone claims to be some sort of genius but yet they dont know about 3rd party apps. Surely its down to them to find out because im pretty sure im not the only one who was wondering the same.

I was also annoyed because i stood around for nearly 30mins hoping that someone would come to me but no one did and it wasnt like they were stupid busy...half those store monkeys were too busy yapping amongst themselves.

But a tiny little thing must have taken pity on me and came over to ask if i needed some help which she did with a case and screen protector.

There are over a million apps now aren't there? Admittedly WhatsApp is popular but there are loads of popular apps, tens of thousands, it's not reasonable to expect the Apple staff to know the ins and outs of each one, I don't think.
 
Fair enough maybe i was a bit harsh calling them monkeys but i was more annoyed at the crappy customer service i got today after the faff with UPS not delivering the phone yesterday when they sent me a text to say the phone will be with me.

Anyhow all is well with the world, ill just do a complete backup on itunes on my laptop...god i hate itunes but i want to make sure that mums new iphone has all her texts and data on it. Once thats done, ill be deleting itunes asap lol.

Why would you stand around for 30minutes? They're not mind readers plus they get a lot of traffic in the stores, like people just coming into browse the internet. If I wanted something doing I'd be proactive about it and ask someone, loitering for 30minutes is just crazy :p
 
You can also request assistance from any of the iPads next to iDevices, or checkout yourself using an the "Apple Store" app.

Waiting around twiddling thumbs for 30 mins? Not a chance.
 
Finally found a 5s deal that's cheaper than paying up front plus 24 months on sim only. Unlimited mins, unlimited texts, 1gb data for 27 quid a month, plus 100 notes for 16gb 5s and 31 quid cash back. One happy wife. A shade under 30 quid a month average cost.

I'm trying to work out whats raping the battery on my 5S, it seems worse than my old 4S and i've turned off most things! All i can think is that the 64gb storage drive uses more power than the 32GB one!
