I watch a lot of the programming here but want to cut costs. Is using the new Now TV deal from Sky the best method? You pay a fiver a month for access to these channels:

Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts 1, Discovery Channel, MTV, GOLD, Disney and Fox.

Whadya reckon?

find someone with sky that does not use skygo (you get all the channels they are subscribed to)
offer them £5 a month to let you use it.

you clearly do not do this, otherwise you would know that sky go only has like 5-10 channels available which aren't movie or sports. therefore terrible for tv shows, good if your into movies or sports though (and they actually have those as part of their sub).

it's also illegal i imagine, i don't think your allowed to share subscriptions like that, which goes against the OP's wishes and he would be better off just torrenting it tbh than doing what you suggested.

rather than paying £5 a month for now tv, why not just get netflix or lovefilm for around that amount? i think if you go through a proxy and get american version of netflix it's even better value for money.

although with any streaming service you will also need to have access to a decent broadband connection, which means even more money unless you already have access to one.

But then that opens the concept of using a proxy to access material only licensed for showing in the US as being illegal.

I want to change to virgin, for the internet primarily but I want to change my whole package for the cash back, however I don't want to lose Sky Atlantic, I'm mulling over this deal too as £5 p/m is reasonable for just Atlantic imo.

28 on mine not including all the sports and movie channels

illegal ? lol

I've been using my parents for about 2 years and I live hundreds of miles from them.

I have it on my kids xbox360 at his mums and on my pc where I live

We use Netflix and don't pay the TV license, works out cheaper even with unblockus.

doesn't matter if you have been using it for about 2 years, it's still illegal, using that logic, i have been torrenting for over 10 years therefore it must be all legal.

it's against their terms and conditions which means if they did find out and could prove it, they could sue you for damages which would be backtracked for as long as they could prove it, etc.

they must have increased the channels on sky go then, since last time i was on it, unless you were interested in sports or movies it was pretty basic, i even opted to use catchuptv instead on many occasions because that had the channel i wanted at the time.

didn't know using a proxy to buy a US sub of netflix was illegal though, thinking about it though the reason given does seem legit, so yeah, pretty much the only sure fire completely legal way then is now tv or a uk sub of netflix or now tv, etc.

i think netflix offers a lot more than what now tv does (watch anytime, etc) or does now tv also do on demand? i imagine content is a lot bigger on netflix as well.

is it not possible to just keep doing 1 month trials of netflix, etc? by just using different email addresses, etc? probably illegal as well mind.

ILLEGAL ? no.
against the terms of service possibly.

Thank **** someone pointed that out, the police are not going to come knocking because you're sharing SkyGo but Sky may well terminate your contract if they found out.
It's just as "illegal" as Psycho Sonny's recommendation of using a proxy to access US content.

You pay unblockus? Hola is free...

What the OP is looking for is Hola browser extension and Hulu.com.

its neither illegal or against the terms...

Skygo if for use on mobile devices.. Sky cant monitor or police where you use the device and have no restrictions on where you access it hence why the only restriction they apply is the amount of devices per sibscription.

whats being done here is no different if i used Sky Go in hotel because i worked away all week... I pay the subscription so should i not be able to use it anywhere other than my house? that defeats the object of it being mobile..
