I have asked several questions already on this matter, but have got very mixed replies, so I am going to rephrase it. I want a gaming PC capable of playing Battlefield 4, and I want it for only around £300 (not including monitor, OS, keyboard, or mouse - everything else I need).

I know its a big ask, but I really do not need this game to look too pretty. I am happy running it on low settings, and I don't ask for more than a consistent 45fps.

I DO NOT WANT A NEXT GEN CONSOLE!

and

I DO NOT WANT TO STEAL PARTS FROM A PREBUILT PC!

Thanks for any help!

Im not wanting to wind you up, this is a serious question..

Why do you want a PC for this, just to play it on low settings? Surely it'd look better on a new console..

It can be played on a pentium and theres a few videos about (on the old pentuims, LGA755)

I don't think it looks great atall..The FPS is all over the place.

I can't see it being a huge amount better with the new Pentiums.

.. to get a whole gaming PC for £300 isn't easy.

Thanks so much for the video. I had been trying to find one. The reason I don't want a console is mainly the controller, and also I'm nerdy and like having a pc to mess around with. :p

I know the video looks terrible, but:
1) the video recording quality is very bad
2) the beta was very badly optimised
3) the pc I have in mind is actually a fair amount better than the one in the vid.

This video has really given me some confidence that this build will work. Thanks very much!

Please don't take this the wrong way but you've had plenty of advice on this on another thread which asks the same thing!

For £300 your looking at a half decent office PC so forget about a half decent gaming PC for BF4.

Sorry to be blunt but it's just not going to happen.

Could you put the full spec you have in mind on here so we can have a look.

You also need to remember that video was also running below 1080p.

BF4 is tricky as its CPU bound all the way up to the £800+ CPUs..

No need for shouty capitals.

If you want honest advice listen to the people who know what they are talking about.

My original rig cost around £800 and ran BF4 okay-ish. New uprgaded rig costs around £1400 and runs it great. £300 it won't imho run anywhere near well. Simples

Josh

forgot to mention this rig is loosely based on JackFrags' battlefield 3 budget PC. This ran bf3 beautifully, so surely it can run bf4?!

Don't disrespect the rules buddy! Most of the links won't show us what they are.

It's not as simple as if it works for BF3 it will be fine for BF4.

How loosely are we talking? The smallest of difference in component could make a huge difference.

very loosely. All of the componenents are better than JackFrags'

Way over your budget but about as cheap as it gets for sensible BF4

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI HD 7850 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Cards £119.99
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Seasonic S12II 430W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
1 x Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD 760G (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £41.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £37.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) HDD £35.99
1 x Cooler Master Elite 344 Micro ATX Case - Black/Purple £32.99
1 x OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99
Total : £437.41 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Multicore CPU - BF4 needs it
PSU actually capable of delivering the rated capacity
Cheapest motherboard that support 125W CPU, the 6300 is 95W but you can OC
cheaper memory has shocking timings so will be very slow
cheapest disk, case, DVDR

At the price you're looking best thing is to look for a second hand system a package or to get some components second hand.

Very interesting mobo and processor. If I used my parts for the rest of the build it would only be about £350. Definately something to consider thanks!

You've obviously made your mind up already, why ask here? Buy the stuff and enjoy your crappy, laggy, texture-less, low resolution gaming 'experience'

Pc gaming is an expensive endeavour and you can't afford to do it. You're 14, ask your parents and relatives for cash for birthday / Xmas, get a part time job if you can and save for a half decent computer.
