Midrange Android phone with decent Barry life and replaceable battery

I'm going to replace my ageing Note 1 with a Nexus 7 and a midrange Android phone. So I'm liking for suggestions for the phone. It doesn't have to be cutting edge. Battery life is important and ideally I'd like to be able to swap the battery out so I can take a couple of spares with me.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
How much do you want to spend? The S4 mini comes to mind, it has a removable battery. You can also buy an external USB battery which will save you from turning off the phone to change batteries, and can also be used to charge the N7 if needed.
 
Thanks, will take a look at that. I guesa around £300 to £350 if buying outright. Or a contract is ok but don't want to spend top money.

S3.

I would sell mine but I gave it to my gf after I bought my Note 3. Still a great phone, especially if you ROM it.

You should be able to find the S4 mini in that price range SIM free if you look around. The S3 is a good shout as well, checking on the rainforest both phones are about £250 ~ £270. No idea which one would be better for battery life though...
 
what about a galaxy note 2? This has a removable battery and will kill the S3/S4 mini for battery life. You say you want midrange but your budget allows for highend. I wouldn't be looking at the S3 if you've got £350.

edit: buy a nexus 5 and a portable battery charger:p

Xiaomi Mi2S, Mi2A or Mi3. High end spec and build quality for mid range money. Not available in the UK though so you have to import.

I got a Mi2s. Extremely impressed with it after a few weeks. Battery life with the stock 2000mAH battery is about the same as I was getting on my old Motorola defy+. If you don't mind a slightly fatter phone they do a 3100 mAH battery upgrade with back cover replacement.
