EVGA Dual Bios Classified 780 + Overclocking

I'm using a skyn3t bios now for 130% don't see the need to go any higher.

Edit: Actually I do, I think I could get close to 1370 with it, but I cannot find a 200% one.

*Found it , willl report back.

Thanks, what is utilization limit? That is what I seem to be hitting but cannot find what it means.

I found this

◾ Temperature Limit – the card is at its temperature throttle point
◾ Power Limit – The card is at its global power/TDP limit
◾ Voltage Limit – The card is at its highest boost bin
◾ Overvoltage Max Limit – The card’s absolute maximum voltage limit (“if this were to occur, you’d be at risk of frying your GPU”)
◾ Utilization Limit – The current workload is not high enough that boosting is necessary

I've heard a lot about the Skyn3t BIOS. Am I right in saying that as long as the original BIOS is re-flashed before a card is returned the warranty stands? And as the card has a dual BIOS option it should be pretty safe to use?

Enigma, in your most recent run, you set the temp target to 86 degrees...but won't GPU Boost 2.0 begin throttling once it exceeds 80? I was thinking I'd need to set a temp target of say 79, then play with the power/voltage until the noise became too much and/or the card reached its limit. I must have misunderstood something...back to the homework!

Noxia - couple of questions, if that's okay? First, how loud would you say the card is when you set the clock to ~1300Mhz and temp to 80 degrees? Second, would you say there is a tangible difference when gaming between a Classified boosting at ~1100Mhz and ~1300Mhz when gaming? Just trying to make sense of all this!

Not sure about the Utilization Limit...is that an EVGA term or an Nvidia one? If it's the latter and Skyn3t disables GPU Boost 2.0 (which it does, right?) maybe there's some issue there where the GPU is saying that it doesn't need Boost 2.0 because it can already cope with the workload without it?

Finally, can I ask what kind of fps you guys can get in BF4 on Ultra at 1080p (if any of you have it)? I've seen so many benchmarks, but the numbers vary from 50fps all the way up to around 100fps, depending on clocks, system spec, area benchmarked etc etc. I'm hoping to pair this card with a 120Hz monitor, and just wondering if it'll be worth it.

Thanks, sorry for all the questions!

thanks chaparral, turns out it means nothing then :)

Adrian, you can switch the bios switch to ln2 on top of the card and put whatever bios you want on it, EVGA don't mind this but they want you to keep the normal bios on slot 1.
Card is quite whooshy at that volume but I do not have to turn my speakers up that much to drown it out, really doesn't bother me and I also have a headset. My card has boost disabled but yes I'd say it's certainly a smoother operation having a constant clock speed (which is what the skyn3t bios gives you)
I'm playing BF4 on ultra at 1440p but with no SMAA, the fps rarely dropped below 60 on the campaign and MP hasn't really tested it either to be honest.
I have a 4770k (4.3) and 8gb RAM.

I see from 75-120fps on ultra at 1280mhz v1.187. Mainly play 16-24man but it still holds up well with 64man servers.

I received one myself yesterday - what a beast :D
However when I switch to LN2 bios my power limit is still 110%. Should it not be 115%? Am I missing something? I just wanted to play with stock bios before flashing with Skyn3t.

BTW my bios version is:
Normal: 80.80.31.00.80
LN2: 80.80.31.01.80

Do you have the same bios Enigma?

its weird but after taking physically card out and putting back in I have 115% power target but no increase in clocks its actually less stable on memory.
my current working clocks on any benchmark are 1267/1701. I feel like gpu may go further but memory is on absolute maximum.

Hey wojsku, I find I have to reboot after the first boot up for the BIOS change to take effect.
