Forza Motorsport for PC ?

far better racing sims available on pc

Yes and No. Yes there are better looking sims, there are more accurate sims.

However no PC Sim I've come across has the polish of Forza (Or GT) when it comes to car customisation, interesting tracks, single player and multiplayer.

Microsoft, you could release Forza5 on Windows 8, as a pure Xbox 360 controller only title on Metro and I'd buy it in an instant!

Like what ?.. please do tell..

from my past 5-7 years playing forza, and other racing games such as GT, Grid, NFS, CMR, etc etc.. Forza is by far the best out there for handling, sounds, graphics, well. just everything.. it tops them all.

but thats just me :)

You cant be serious you think Forza Is the tip of the Sim world? Its not even a sim. Its an arcade racer that pretends to be a Sim.
You clearly have never heard of Netkar, Live for Speed, Iracing, GTR2, Race 07, Rfactor 1 and 2. Plus many others

Hand down these are all miles ahead of Forza. If Forza is a sim then I'm a pink elephant.

Dont get me wrong I like Forza. But its just like GT a "sheep in wolfs clothing".

Hi Spils. /waves

I wholeheartedly disagree.

i bought my 360 for halo and forza
but i cant justify the xbone for it at all, not even close

it would only ever come out on pc if MS wanted to seriously challenge in the PC games arenam but i dont see that happening, as proved by this thread, people are buying Xbones just for that game!

I haven't bought a racing game on the PC since the early 2000's. I would jump at a "Forza" but it ain't gonna happen though. :(

Yeh I bought an Xbox360 pretty much just for Forza...

Forza 2 was the game that convinced me I hadn't completely wasted my money on a 360. Absolutely loved it.

I didn't like 3 anywhere near as much. Rather clinical and a few too many uber Audi's.

I got a PS3 due to GT5 :p

So did I. Dreadful mistake. :(

I dont think GT, is anywhere close to forza, but thats my opinion.

Forza horizon was my best one, it made it twice as hard to control the cars because of the roads/trees etc etc.. and online play was epic, and such a good laugh with friends.

i did hear about a horizon 2 coming out next year, so i tihnk i will deffo buy a xbone for that if i havnt allready by then!

The problem with labelling games as 'sims' is that you will always have a hardcore brigade waiting to pounce on the suggestion that anything but the most extreme realism isn't a simulator and may even be branded an 'arcade racer' by default. I'm not suggesting Forza should be called a sim btw. However the reality is that it isn't a binary value, there is a massive grey area inbetween the two sub-genres. There are games like NFS:Porsche/Shift on PC, GT5 on PS3 and Forza that blend the boundaries a little. While they will not appeal to the real sim afficionados, they do cater for people that want a game with setup tuning, where the quickest way to take a corner isn't to simply keep it floored and bounce off the walls etc.

Personally, I was quite [pleasantly] surprised when I started playing Forza 2 a couple of months ago because based on things I'd read online I was expecting something much more sim-like, more so than GT5. Based on the settings (driving aids) I'm using, I'd say it feels slightly more arcadey than GT5.

One of the things I love about GT5 is it is pretty much the first game that has actually educated me a little bit in terms of the way I race. Things like not applying full brake pressure in the wet, about looking after my tyres (observing the load when cornering) I'd never really considered before.

To follow the thread trend, I got an XB360 simply due to the exclusive games that were bundled with it (PGR4, Forza 2, Fable 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars , GoW2). I didn't actually buy any more games for it in over 2 years.

Forza 2 is 5+ plus years old. The tyre model in Forza 4 is much much better and would be a better comparison to GT5.

When I try the older Forza games, you really can see the huge improvements that have been made each time. Forza 5 will only continue that trend.
