Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 10th November 2013]

3-1 Norwich. Jol pulls ahead.

West Ham aren't looking too healthy - 10 points from 11 games, same as Fulham. They could do with one of Norwich's strikers.

He's done that all his life, still scores though.

He didn't do much of that last season.

I can't see Fulham going down because they'll pick up enough points from other sides near the bottom but they're an absolutely atrocious team. Berbatov captaining their side sums up their problems, they're lazy and gutless. Had we not ****ed about for the final 35-40 minutes, it really could have been double figures today.

Big three points for Norwich. We were utterly woeful in the first half with nobody apart from Snoddy willing to close down. Second half we pressed them high up the pitch and got our rewards. In reflection I'd say we deserved all three points for the way we played in that 2nd half.

Plenty of positives to take from that game with Hooper in particular playing well and some good link up play between him and Elmander. Olsson and Redmond looked a real handful down the left with some serious pace(something Norwich have lacked for so long).

Still plenty of questions left to answer though, such as how is Pilkington still stealing a living as a footballer? Although the biggest question is definitely van Wolfswinkel. Both Elmander and Hooper(and Holt who they were brought in to replace) were big, strong guys with not a huge amount of natural talent but all willing to put in a hard shift and challenge with the centre halfs. RvW on the other hand is much more technically gifted but will he be as willing to put in a shift as the other two? He has seemed a bit lazy so far and we simply do not have enough quality creative players to have a lazy poacher upfront.

Hopefully Hughton sticks with two up front but actually tells the lads to start closing the opposition down from the first whistle, because better teams would have scored 3-4 in that first half with the amount of space we gave them.

Probably still should have been. Hangeland is first choice captain, but I don't think Berbatov should be vice - it should be Parker really.

We've been in horrendous form for the last 6-7 months. Had we not won against Palace I think Jol's job would be long gone by now.

NEED players to find form, the only one playing well (ish) is Kasami at the moment.

Why aren't video clips of the incident examined before making a major decision like a penalty. It's unfair on teams and in the end could determine what position you get.

Because most penalty decisions aren't a matter of fact. There's plenty of penalty decisions that are hugely subjective and you'll get hugely inconsistent decisions being made. There will also be prolonged stoppages while decisions are being reviewed and then arguments between the decision being made and restart of play.

And one of the official lines (not that I care about it) is that FIFA want at all levels to be played under the same rules and regulations. I guess goal line technology has put an end to that though.

I'd quite like to see the system they have in tennis and American football whereby each team can challenge a certain number of decisions. That way you're not stopping play after every decision, it wouldn't undermine the referee's authority as he could be the one to view the replay, and it might actually stop players diving in the box if they know the decision, it goes their way, will be challenged.

I've said it before but they should introduce challenges for disallowed goals and penalties etc. considering the amount of money they've wasted on goal line technology which is rarely an issue, it's a bit of a joke that massive key decisions like these are still being made incorrectly on a weekly basis.

As much as I want to win tomorrow, our result against Pool last week and Chelsea's today means that a loss at OT wouldn't be the biggest disaster, as there are some very winnable games after that.

I don't think we need more technology, I just think we need better referees and for them to be more consistent.
