I could understand viewing angles on a TV or tablet, but a phone? Surely it's mobile enough to just move it until it's head on?

I have never used my phone at an angle.

I have never used my phone at an angle.

I use my phone a lot when its on my table, e.g. just turn on the screen and quickly check stuff without picking it up so it matters. Also the grey issue with the N5 is very clear when I use it in bed, where I don't wanna use it head on then drop it on my face.

When I get a text and I'm in bed it's actually pretty difficult to just glance at my phone to see who it was from like I could do with my Note II.

The Note 2 and S3 have overblown screens for sure. The S4 and Note 3 however have much improved colours and suit my tastes perfectly. Add to that, nigh on perfect blacks, viewing angles and huge contrast.

Each to their own though - everyone's tastes differs, obviously.

You link shows the Note II to have accurate colours in Movie mode, but it's still miles off accurate =/

As you say, each to their own, but I look forward to OLED being the standard as we should have the numerous benefits (contrast, viewing angles, power consumption) of OLED without Samsung's dodgy meddling of the saturation.

Edit: WTF, is the Note III really a Pentile screen?

so after owning nexus for a week-ish... and thinking my oppo find 5 was snappy and fast.. this is on the other level! find 5 feels slow and choppy when compared to nexus 5 even if it runs cyanogenmod mod - stock "color OS" is still not as smooth as nexus 5! :) briliant phone and tbh the only thing I'd upgrade on N5 is screen, speaker and camera(shutter/focus speed)

i thought nexus had crap sound

that video compared the loudness.. and tbh nexus 5 is not THAT loud and in day-to-day use that comparison is good because that's how you hold the phone! but S4 sound meatier nexus 5 is just really TINY MONO-ish sound.. just feels MEH.. its good for videos etc but for music playback it isn't - personally I don't use speaker on my phone that often to play music so it doesn't bother me but my previous oppo wipes the floor compared to N5

as long as i can hear the phone ringing i'll be ok , will be using headphones most of the time

also two quick questions.
does this have the same switching off effect like samsung galaxy nexus ?

is there a quick way of switching between vertical and horizontal view like on the xperia z

Are you sure it's not a quiet rattle? My screen doesn't squeak however I get a small rattle coming from the camera casing. Had the same on the Nexus 4 so I think all of them have the rattle.

Turns out it was the screen protector making that noise haha

No it is not. A lot of those deals are grey imports.

it doesn't really matter where the phone came from does it now? :) the fact is that amazon is the seller! the provider of the goods is someone else but amazon will handle the returns etc which is exactly what tom-e is saying

Amazon do not honour any warranty with fulfillment. It is still up to the seller. They only handle the RMA process.

Because these are grey imports Samsung won't honour the warranty either. It is up to the seller, who you will have to chase.

Already discussed to death on hotukdeals.

Edit:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/cr/B00BULAUWG/ref=mw_dp_cr?qid=1384043198&sr=8-32

Read Christopher Logan's review. Amazon will only act within the first 14 days even for fulfillment purchases.

Edit2:

Also Amazon is not the seller! They are providing logistics.
