What the best C&C type games out now ?

I used to be big time into playing the older C&C games (also completed warzone 2100)

What are the best ones out now ? (I really only enjoy the types where you can build your own base/vehicles etc)
as i feel like playing one these type of games again

not sure if you mean type as in genre (rts) or as in modern day tanks etc.

Starcraft 2 is the best rts you can get your hands on.
 
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance by far. Get the Forged Alliance Forever mod installed - adds multiplayer support and some more recent patching. Plus has a lot of mods built in, love the Black Ops mod :D
 
I'll need to check out the Forged Alliance Forever mod, sounds interesting.

I did like Sup Com2 though, did some things better then the original (unit movement for one), and played with Mods (like the "Scale Mod + FA Economy" Mod) it brings back some of the main things that were missing.


Dawn of War games are also pretty good. The original series is much more like C&C than the second one though.
 
Highly recommend supreme commander 1 & 2, the original dawn of war series is well worth a look and can be had for pretty cheap these days l think.

If you fancy something a bit different, give sins of a solar empire a try.
 
When you say "out now" what sort of timeframe are you talking about? The most recent I've played and enjoyed was C&C3.

Starcraft II
company of heroes 2
planetary annihilation

Starcraft 2 will be the most similar for spammy unit type play but coh 1 was epically good one of the best rts of all time not too blown away by sequel but some people seem to love it.

The best "Modern" RTS's that I can list would be:

Supreme Commander 2
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
Generals: Zero Hour (Not a true CnC, hence leaving that bit out! :D)
Company of Heroes 2
Company of Heroes
C&C3

Just keep playing Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge! Think they nailed it with those two. Sup Com was decent as well.
