In a shocking email a Chinese Reader told us that GTX 780 Ti units in the Chinese locale are hitting a snag. One of them even apparently blew up. He further directed us to alleged evidence that the GTX 780 Ti was being recalled and its sale suspended. The posters are in Chinese.

Further more the same Chinese source also claims that Galaxy has acknowledged the malfunctioning batch and is recalling said batch and promising replacements. If this is indeed true then this could be quite a snag in the Nvidia Sales department.

Disclaimer: Wait! STOP! Before you attempt to read this further, make sure to take everything at face value alone. Though we have run every authenticity check we could think off, it does not mean that this News can be basis for further assumptions. I cannot possibly stress the importance of not blindly following a distant leak source no matter how authentic it appears. The only reason i have not tagged this post as a RUMOR is because i have yet to find any sign of forgery or fabrication. Massive Skepticism, Brain, Jar of Salt. Ok, you are good to go.

Who wrote the article, AMD?

This is a Hong Kong company that sells computer component (just like OCUK)

As I am from Hong Kong so I can read Chinese perfectly.
I have just gone through their website and can be pleased to tell you guys that it is only Individual incidents in China, no GTX780Ti blew up report from HK / overseas yet. So they will CONTINUE to sell GTX780Ti

This sounds more like crossed wires to me....

Its relatively well known that some galaxy (kfa2) hof 780's (not ti's!!) Have blown.

So, coincidence that the blown card happens to be galaxy? I think so.

There was something that kept blowing on them, even with a small voltage bump but no idea what it was. There is a flaw with those Galaxy cards and a part they are using is now being shown up when more voltage is added to the 780Ti. I bet they are using the same components and have had a bad batch.

OCN.net had 3 780's HoF cards that blew with a small voltage bump.

Didn't Galaxy stop selling in Europe because one of their cards kept crashing in Furmark? I remember having one of their cards which was affected, they were the only brand so they must make a habit of skimping on components.

Galaxy sell their components in Europe under the guise of KFA2 ;).

KFA2 is the European premium brand of Galaxy, nothing to hide, proud to be a part of it.

Our aim is to be the extreme version of the already well established, tried and tested manufacturing facility that for over 16 years has produced cards for a number of graphics companies and now has its own brand.

Ah I see, I recall they had trouble once before though but I can't remember which card it was (possibly Geforce 6800?).. their cards would crash in Furmark at stock even though all others were stable, it was well before Furmark started getting throttled.
