From looking around the GTX 780's price is rising after the big drop. The Gigabyte Windforce is still £383 on ocuk but that deal expires on the 13th and i'm not sure what it will rise to but i expect quite abit more.

I was hoping to wait around and see if mantle + 290 with aftermarket coolers were a better option to a 780 but the 780's rising is making me think i should get it now before the prices go to high.

If you are worried about Mantle, let me put it this way.

780 gets 80 fps average in BF4 on max settings
Mantle gives the 290X 96 fps average on max settings in BF4

Show me what you are missing? I have good eyesight but feel I would struggle to notice a few fps difference.



Buy now and don't look back. If mantle was to give some form of gfx tech like PhysX, I would want to hold off but so far, it will give a boost of anyone's guess in BF4 to fps and that is that.

No, no one knows what Mantle will bring yet.

The 780 is what it is, the 290 is what it is and possibly much more soon.

Yea i understand. Also i would like to see how it all turns out after the 290's coolers are released etc but i'm worried 780 prices are going to rise and ocuk's deal on the WF 780 ends on the 13th. I was wondering what other people thought.
