Famous OcUK motor in the local paper!

I don't feel that a 911 accurately represents the subject matter of the article at all.

To be honest newspapers being newspapers got it completely wrong.

The photo they were meant to use was a group shot of all cars including company banners and the cheques for over £1500 raised for charity, so good work to the sentinel, idiots.

Unsurprising. I didn't really understand why that photo was used when you had mentioned all the other stuff in the office last week.

Just like the good old Max Power days, and the festival park :)

Those were the good and bad days, but they were certainly mental. :D

These guys and girls are a smaller group who seem a lot more focuses on the good, rather than the bad, it might be my car getting centre stage but the whole idea was that the photo used should have being a group shot showing everyone and the monies the group had raised for charity, yet the only mention of that is a single sentence.

Never trust a newspaper reporter, was still a good evening out though. :)

People meeting every week in a retail estate car park??? Seriously? Maybe when I was 17 - 19, tops, but not 44

Out of interest and purely playing devils advocat - where else would you suggest these people meet, to talk, show off their cars, in large neough numbers (say over 10).

You can't meet in a street somewhere, you'll block the street. What you need is a large plot of concrete, with little in the way of people around -which in the dead of night perfectly describes a car park.

Honest answer? I wouldn't. Those days are gone. If people want to appreciate my car, they can do so while they see it driving along the road.

I would prefer an industrial estate to a retail park car park...., if I had to meet anywhere.

The issue being with an industrial estate is that there's going to be traffic - a car park out of hours is just the best location for them - Providing they aren't acting like chavs, then I don't see the problem.

For the record - I wouldn't either! But I can see why people do it and the benefits on doing it where they do it.

Housey - come on fella, you're not that old... yet! :p

An industrial estate (my understanding anyway) is likely to be empty from 4:45pm onwards. Certainly that's the norm around these parts, unless you have a City Link or similar there.

There is an estate near us with a Toys'R'Us on it, and then hundreds of factory units that all empty out at 4:30pm. Meeting in / around there would be far more beneficial, but then, McDonalds wouldn't make as much money :)

Powerstation for an RR day? :D

Can't see much at night though. Better off getting a pub on your side and you can then meet up during the day, somewhere there is food and drink and actually see the cars.

I'm trying to decide whether that quote is a wind-up or an advert for euthanasia. I want to give him a high-five for spelling "modifications" correctly, though.
