Hey guys,

I am looking at upgrading my GFX card. I currently have an EVGA 660ti SC card and was wondering if it was better to get an additional 660 TI and have them in SLI or just get one single 770. I only have £300 so 2 770s is a no no.

Cheers

2 660ti's will be quite a bit quicker than a single 770, if you don't mind SLI then I'd go for a second 660Ti and save a bit of cash.

I had 660's non ti in SLI and they were bloody quick knocking out 13-14k in 3d mark 11, where as when I had a 770 it would break 10.5k when overclocked.

Now I'm going crossfire x with a 7970 Matrix and 7950 first crossfire rig since 4870's wish me luck!

Great performance at a fraction of the price, but if there are no game profiles for a particular game it may only use one card, but the same story with crossfire and SLI but both nvidia and AMD has great scaling now between 2 cards and micro stutter is all but gone.

It's just down to what your happy with at the end of the day.

dont like AMD cards im afraid and wanna keep the PC quiet!!!! :)
If you must stick with Nvidia, I'd strongly suggest you save up and go for the GTX780 when a good deal comes up. The GTX770 is more expensive and slower than AMD's 280x, and also its lower memory bandwidth (due to its 256-bit bus) and 2GB vram is already borderline sufficient for the latest demanding games, nevermind headroom for future titles.

TBH, i have a total budget of £700 but i didnt wanna go stupid on a gfx card as i also wanted to get a new case, processor, new tubing and front bay res/tube res. I need more room for tubing as also purchased the EK FB M5F kit and already having 1 360 and 1 240 rad, the extra room would be helpful. if i purchased a 780 plus waterblock and backplate, thats £500 gone. not gonna do the rest on £200. Plus the missus aint too happy on me spending £500 on just 3 items!!!!!

if money is the biggest issue, I'd go sli personally. I'm using sli 670s, and as far as I know the 660ti is very close to the 670, think the only difference is memory interface, 192 bits for the 660ti and 256 bit for the 670 (correct me if I'm wrong,) if so then they will be **** off a stick :)

The only games I have played at release that didn't have SLI drivers were Tomb Raider and SC: Blacklist. One 670 maxed SC anyway, and I think it took a week or so for the SLI profile for tomb raider to surface.

See i dont do a lot of gaming, its more the graphic design. Doesnt help i got a lot of mates on my xbox that I do FIFA with on a regular basis so a 780 seems a bit overkill when it wont get a lot of usage

GTX660 Ti SLI is faster than a GTX770, they provide performance similar to a Titan/GTX780.

How come?
And 660ti SLI would be fairly noisy.

GTX660Ti with custom coolers are dead quiet, how much noise they make will depend on the gap between the PCIE slots on his motherboard and case cooling.

If you are not really gaming, I guess the question you should consider asking yourself is..."Is my GTX660Ti really lacking for what I use it for?"

Of course, but he has an evga sc so I assume its a reference cooler.

Ouch, a stock cooler. :(

Well if he's okay with his current noise levels, adding a second GTX660Ti with custom cooler shouldn't make any difference so long as the card with the stock cooler is given enough room.
