Amazon Launches their own Playstation Store!

Pretty awesome, will be good to see some digital competition, as hopefully it will mean a reduction in proces for people who want to buy digital games.

Yep price is a major issue with the digital store at the moment, and Amazon are usually pretty competitive so it should help push prices down

EPIC news!!!!!!!

I get typically about £150 per month in Amazon vouchers so being able to spend them on digital games is a massive bonus.

Basically means I CAN go digital without spending my own money. This is especially useful for Indie games and the like.

Are digital games locked to your account?

I know that free games I get with ps plus are only available as long as Im a member but I have never bought a digital game and wondered weather they are locked to the users account , so if you ever sell your console you cant say it comes with 10 digital games or can you?

Would be good to see some competition on console digital games, there's tons of places to get games cheaply for the PC.

Its ironic because this is the sort of deal that would have been good for an all digital console like what Microsoft wants.

Sony are clever they know what they are doing.

With large download files this is unrealistic for people like me on 2meg, I hope it wont mean the retail blu rays will b more expensive now?

how do you get vouchers?

I doubt it. If anything, cheaper digital prices could mean lower physical prices as the shops can't afford for a large part of their customer base to go digital. They would have to reduce prices to remain competitive.

It's not ironic, though I see the point you are getting at.

I think it's a good move by Sony.

Probably some sort of amazon employee tax evasion scam lol.

lol :p

No I just do online surveys during my break/lunch, take place in online market research groups and some focus groups/product tests when invited.

Plus TCB on things I buy.

Honestly it takes ages to set it all up with lots of sites, and I do fit a quite specific demographic so I get invited to a lot of things. It's a mixed bag, and I don't expect I can keep it up forever but it's an average of £1500 a year for 4 years now for about 30-60mins per day so I'm milking it like crazy.

Last month I participated in 2x 60 minute online chat sessions and got £120 for them!
My Amazon gift cert page is up to 21 pages. lol

It's not for everyone, but I actually find it interesting because I have an interest in marketing anyway and I get to find out about a lot of new product ideas (even games) long before most know about them so it's interesting to see what companies have in the works and give feedback on it.

Ill look forward to this once pricing is up, even if it is a bit cheaper I just dont see Sony needing to compete, it might save a bit of money but I doubt the long tail will be substantially cheaper (when it exists :p) - need more than one alternative store to really hope that long-term market pricing will happen...

ps3ud0
