Mum After new phone £200 budget

Hi folks,

sorry if this has been asked before, (i did have a quick look few pages back). But im mum is after a new phone, and its her venture into the smartphone world. Her budget is £200 tops, and she only wants new (not second hand)

Unfortuneatly she's 2 weeks to late, otherwise id suggest a N4.

So what do you guys recommend,

personally i would just get her to go into a phone shop and have a play as unless she wants 3d gaming most android phones for £200 should run most apps fine.

only problem comes with support if she wants kitkat from the manufactuerer as android phones seem to have a habit of being forgotton about as soon as a new version is out.

shops are usually horrible overpriced

nexus 4 is the one to go for for under £200, if you can stretch to £300 though then nexus 5.

didn't realise it had to be brand new.

why won't she buy second hand? seems ridiculous to me tbh.

in that case ZTE Blade V for <£70 iirc on hotukdeals when i saw it a few days back.

quad core smartphone for peanuts. nowhere near as good as a second hand nexus 4 for £150 mind you, but it's half the price and new.

I agree but its hard to play on a phone to try it out without visiting one in the first place, im sure we have all taken to a highstreet shop to try somthing then purchased it online later that day for a big saving :)
 
Android only?

What about a Lumia? I personally think at sub £250, you're probably better off getting a Lumia. It's also dependant on what your mum really wants to do too. If it's not much other than Facebook and web surfing then any £150 phone can do the job. Then there's also size.

The Moto G already mentioned earlier would also look like a tempting prospect.
 
nokia 920 perfert for the older generation and every easy to use and stable. You can get them for £230 and not to mention the build quality and scree are excellent.
 
The Motorola Moto G sounds like it will be the ultimate mum phone, apparently gona cost from £135 due for announcement tomorrow.

Apparently it was briefly listed on Amazon for £159.99 so I can see most shops being close to £200.
 
Apparently its just a present from her to my step-dad.

Their both not tech savvy, so Windows, android etc it wont really matter to either of them in all honesty.

And i mentioned second hand N4, and she just said nope, dont want a second hand phone, quite simple really :)
