*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Got my hands on a DS4 today in GAME. Triggers are better, grip area is larger but there is still something lacking with it for me, but I cant put my finger on it

Sounds like you made the right choices there to be honest (except maybe BF, but that's debatable)
The BF decision was kinda already made as it's part of my console bundle. Saying that, as I'm getting the Xbox One next week, and it's unknown when I'm getting the PS4 yet, I probably would have stuck with that anyway.

I feel in a really good position now games wise anyway. Whenever a multiplat comes out I can simply buy it on whatever console I feel is best. If like NBA and NFS there are no real differences, I can get it on Xbox as I imagine I will prefer that controller (though that will change if the DS4 surprises me). If the game is better on a particular console, or has exclusive content on a console, then I'll get it on that. Best of both worlds :)

Gah I hate switching. Only used my 360 for good exclusives

(The cut to black screens are video edits, not actually the UI going blank)
Umm am I going to be the only one that thinks that UI for nearly every menu looks a complete mess?

Wow, that's even more bargain bin than I expected :/

Killzone sounds like more of the same tbh, pretty but ultimately not a top shooter. I'll probably pick it up when I get a PS4 but it'll never be among the FPS heavy hitters.

I used to think the same, as the 360 was my primary console and I only used the PS3 for exclusives. As I was so 360-oriented though, I feel I missed out on some of the PS3 games I might otherwise have tried, as I only really played the "big" exclusives. If I'm more even this time I shouldn't really miss anything unless I choose to.

Edit: Though I'm sure one console will eventually be my primary to an extent, either because of the controller, UI, or simply what my friends also own.

Polygon review of the PS4 is in.

7.5

But the PlayStation 4's focus on gaming — and only gaming — is undermined by a distinct lack of compelling software. That failing is sure to improve

Agree with that.

Those Killzone direct feed shots look horrible, yadda yadda launch title.

Could it be that the decision by both MS and Sony to focus on particular issues is hurting them in different ways? MS is obviously more of an entertainment console, and you could say that the initial games are hurting as a result, yet it could well be a more feature rich console than the PS4, which is focusing solely on games.

I'm sure in time both consoles will improve drastically in both areas.
