Why?

It's a Killzone game, of the previous three games I have played, I have enjoyed none of them. This just another Killzone game sprinkled with some launch title glitter, and the scarcity of other games at launch has built the hype about this one.

They really are over hyped rubbish.

I'm not saying it's a 10/10 or even 9/10 game, but look at some other reviews:

• IGN - 8/10
• Eurogamer - 7/10
• PSNation - 9.5/10
• Gamespot - 7/10
• Joystiq - 3.5/5

And then Gies gives it a 5 as expected.

Well considering the IGN scale starts at 7. :p

PSNation is a shock horror score lets be honest. Everything else is average, just like the game.

And from Kotaku:

Another thought bubbled as I kept neck-stabbing and shooting through Shadow Fall: if this game wasn't so astoundingly gorgeous, I'd be bored out of my skull. It's a cliché that beauty fades and Shadow Fall's pulchritude is no exception. Once the wonder faded, it became clear that the game is a collection of missed marks and recycled design.

I don't think anyone is surprised by the reviews for Knack. My initial response upon seeing it being played at EuroGamer was 'please say that isn't PS4 gameplay'.

Xbone will definitely win the AAA release launch up battle (not that it's much of a battle when there are basically no games) if Forza 5 is as good as the videos have shown so far.

I'm still wondering why I pre-ordered the PS4. I was getting excited about Lego Marvel Super Heroes, but then I saw it is £49.99 to pre-order on Amazon for PS4, yet only £17.99 for PC. Instantly changed my mind :( Just can't warrant spending that much extra for a lesser product. Especially considering it will probably be in a Steam sale at some point in the future, and I can't see it dropping price on PS4 anytime soon.

Let's hope Infamous Second Son lives up to expectations. I'm also starting to wonder if I'll end up with Watch Dogs on PC instead of PS4.

Yeh it certainly seems to be a 7-8 game, Gies is just being Gies and it's never really worth listening to platform specific sites

I'm glad I've cancelled my PS4 order.

I will be over the moon when the likes of Naughty Gods and SSM release games for it, that's when I'll get mine, when there is something I want to play.

Just bought my PSN Plus card for the year from Very.co.uk. I got a years subscription and Breaking Bad the final season on Blu Ray for 36 pounds. Here's the code for 30 pound off a 60 pound spend I used if anyone's interested "3VYJ9".

They have quite a few PS4 games for 55 so basically if you get something else for a fiver your essentially getting any next gen game for 30 quid :).

Edit: you have to apply for the credit option but as long as you pay it off within the time frame there's no interest.

I think it's a series you either gel with or don't - I love the much heavier and weighty feeling to the controls and the presentation of the story, but can see why people wouldn't like those things, especially if they're a fan of the gunplay in CoD/Halo for example.

Where from? :p

GameInformer scores

Knack 8.25
Contrast 7.5
COD Ghosts 8.0
AC4 Black Flag 8.25

Might wait for Knack to come up on PS+, shouldn't have long to wait if these scores are anything to go by.

Edit: No score for Killzone yet as they are waiting to get hands on with the multi player.

BF4, COD and Fifa should keep me occupied until Watch Dogs, Infamous and other games get released/announced still so excited for a shiny new toy.

Lol.

I've enjoyed all the killzone games, Killzone 3 being the one I enjoyed the most, so going on the reviews seems I will enjoy Killzone Shadow Fall as well.

Surprised by Resogun. PS+ freebie as well, and Contrast looks ok ish. Knack was always looking a bit lackluster.

i'm sure contrast, killzone, resogun and FIFA I get with my mega bundle (Contrast and Resogun being PS+ games) i've got enough to play with, i'll check out the NFS rivals reviews, but seems I'm going to have enough to play on my PS4.

Hardware reviews are looking good, apart from Polygon - I ignore that site, they gave last of us a pretty poor review when you consider how much acclaim that game got elsewhere.

Polygon are awful, they have Microsoft fanboys like Arthur Gies reviewing games and they also apparently got paid $700,000 by Microsoft not so long ago. Not to be trusted at all.

My PS4 order is all sorted. Ill be getting PS4, 2 controllers, PSN year subscription and Camera. Game wise I've chosen to go with Killzone and Assassin's Creed. Three days off work at launch as well :D.
