Anybody see this?
Just was reading through the blog posts from yesterday and screenied it, I know a lot of people were banking on being able to add ps4 games from plus before getting the console.
Yeah we discussed it a little in the ps+ thread. Bit gutted as I was hoping to snag them through my PS3 or online. I guess they knew a lot of people would want to do that so changed it.
There are conflicting reports though. Some say you will and some say you won't.
Cheers guys I'm after a fast hard drive with a minimum of 1,000GB and 3 to 5 years warranty. I'll probably wait as said and see what everyone else is doing before taking the plunge. I really don't want to spend any more than £200 if I can help it.
Does switching to SSD not potentially have other issues potentialy? I vaguely remember reading in the past some stuff around SSDs and Consoles and that although initial load times were quicker it could screw up the timings for caching and streaming. In fact is some cases it was better to run a game from the DVD than to install it onto the HDD as the timings were set up to take that into account.
Could be making that up though, it's just a vague recollection and I'm sure things have moved on.
yep it was mentioned yesterday that ps+ ps4 games can only be purchased and downloaded via a ps4.
I suspected as much, you can grab vita titles on ps+ without owning a ps vita but seems Sony has wised up and now you can only download ps4 games from ps+ if you physically use a ps4.
some will be up in arms over this, but I see this as business sense, others will say but I subscribed to ps+ so alll content regardless if I own the machine or not should be available.
its a tricky one, tbh I think its a little unfair if it is indeed true..
Just looked up prices for a 1TB SSD :O
I'll wait for the games to load...
Seems reasonable to me, if I am honest - the benefits of 'freebie' games are very generous IMHO, and I think Sony need to consider protecting against too much lost revenue of allowing a build-up of PS+ games for PS4 for those who haven't actually got one??
Keep pre-order? Cancel Pre-order? Keep pre-order....
Yes it makes business sense for Sony, but there are again conflicting reports about this. Some saying you will be able to download them via the web store but not via the PS3 store, and others saying that it will be ONLY on the PS4 store that allows you to add them.In a way, I kind of don't blame them. I wouldn't be surprised if they've done it to reduce costs; I imagine that every time you 'buy' one of the free PS+ games it costs Sony money (be it lost sales or in payments to devs/publishers) so they probably don't want thousands/millions of people who have no immediate intention of getting a PS4 taking the games.
On a different note, any footage of the console start-up sequence yet?
That logic is not right - if you've paid for PS+ already on PS3/Vita then you've paid for the PS4 content, too. If Sony are holding it from you because you haven't got the right hardware, then I'm sure that's setting them up for a class action lawsuit in the States.
After all, I can download PS3 or PS Vita stuff now without owning either.
