Flying with Emirates - Hand luggage?

I'm flying with Emirates a week on Sunday to Thailand and will only be taking a carry-on size backpack. From my trail packing my D-SLR won't fit in the bag so I'd like to take a small camera bag (big enough for camera with lens fitted)

I will contact the airline to check but I was wondering if anyone had flown with Emirates and taken a full sized carry-on plus camera bag without any issues.

Any info would be great

My parents have flown with Emirates and I heard that Emirates is pretty strict with hand luggage. Some have said that the hand luggage has been weighed at check-in and in the boarding areas. The limit for economy class is just one bag that is 7kg or less.

Just came through Emirates CDG Paris this morning and one check in person was weighing hand luggage where another wasnt. Had to negotiate with them for professional camera gear that was over the 7 KGs. Did get it through but they weren't too happy.

What flight are you on? 9.40 from Dubai on Monday morning?

It leaves 03:05 on the 25th. Arrives at BKK around noon.

I've got a 10 day tour then 8 days doing whatever. The tour covers most of the places I want to do and worked out about £100 more than going it alone but I'm in a group of ready made friends lol.

If you want to meet up let me know and I'll tell you where I'll be.
