Yesterday I parked up at work at 7am in the same spot I've park in for the last 2 and a half years!

Went about my business as normal completely oblivious as to what I'd find at 4pm when I went down to my car to go home!

It appears that someone, some anonymous *Insert expletive here* has come hairing round the street, come face to face with another vehicle and panicked and ended up sticking the nose of their car into the back of my 14 week old Fabia!

My car is the Blue, the other (assumed) is Red.

Annoyed doesn't came anywhere close to how I feel.

I have the CCTV from work, but my car is on the very edge (actually out of shot) and I've got 9 hours of footage to sift through looking for a car that stops abruptly on the edge of frame, backs up and then goes on it's merry way! I'm not holding out my hopes here!!

It's gonna cost me my Excess, as there is no one to claim off of as the Scardy Cat scum didn't even leave their details!!

I don't need this so close to Christmas!!

I would speak to an independent before going through your insurance, is the bumper cracked, if not you'll be surprised that it will probably pop out and be smart repaired?

my goodness, what an absolute tool! Feel for you OP!

Hope you manage to find the bugger with the CCTV!

Is it a busy road? it looks like a side road of an industrial/tech park kind of road!

Can you get idea of the offender's car's colour on the off chance its scratched in the dent? White maybe?

May make sifting through the video footage easier (and if its in colour).

I wouldnt risk losing no claims and paying excess for damage like that, source a new bumper or try and get the damaged one smart repaired.

on the bright side, it doesn't look too bad and a repair shouldn't cost you a fortune.

I really do hope you find who it was and can claim off their insurance though.

I had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago without any CCTV, i was very annoyed at the time.

As people have said, it looks like you could get that fixed for much less than the excess on your policy and any loss of no claims.

Not sure where to source the Bumper from, plus as the car is only 15 weeks old I don't want to stick a Non Skoda Paturn part on the car! (that's just how I am!)

Plus I need the Courtesy Car that my Insurance Provides! otherwise I can't get to work (65 miles from home!).

It's gonna cost me £200... how much would sourcing the part, getting it fitted and painted and covered under a warranty cost me?

Already started the ball rolling with my Insurance and notified the Police, who actually seem quite interested! (which shocked me!! :D )

Best bet is to leave it with Skoda to get appraised and fixed, and get the insurance to pay for it? At least you'll have genuine parts. Make sure the insurance doesn't bully you into using one of their "approved" garages.

I think the suggestion was you keep driving the car till after xmas; this isn't a car debilitating piece of damage.

Is it really only going to cost £200?

If it's not protected you'll lose your no claims bonus, you'll also have a claim on your record which will lead to you paying higher insurance premiums for the next few years.

You souldnt need to source any parts. just take that to a body shop and they should be able to pop the dent out and prep it for a respray.

However if you have notified your insurance already you might as well follow up with them as it has already affected your premiums.
