I can't play games anymore

Oh hell looks like I'm the oldest gamer here I'm 50 in march 2014 never liked online games much always preferred slow going deep games that you can take you time playing so my age now shouldn't be a problem.

I'll say, i simply do not have the time to get really good. I can only invest a couple of hrs here and there into a game.. So I'm always getting owned by the younger crowd who can afford to put the hrs in so that it becomes second nature to them.

I do very occasionally put a lot of time in.. Example I really got into SFIV when it first came out and would win say 3 out of 4 online games.

Fifa08 was probably the last one i got really into... Same deal there 3 out of 4... I'm going to be VERY rusty tonight, using a controller on COD.. I suspect i'll be in the bottom two or three for a while, and my other title is Fifa.. I expect to be owned.

35 here and I don't get to play games much. Mostly cos I live with my gf and we're always at work and then come home, cook, clean, chill together. Most time I get to play is when she's still asleep on a weekend morning or when she goes out on a girlie night.

I was never that good either. In recent years the only game I ever completed 100% was Assassins Creed 2. Everything else I play for a while and get bored.

edit: I also note I never got in to the online multiplayer games, especially FPS as I got owned all the time. So these next gen consoles just don't appeal any more. Nor did the PS3 for multiplayer.

I'm 43 this year and still love gaming. I'm a lot harder to please these days so some games I buy are left half finished but there are others that grab me and keep my interest to the end.
No doubt my reflexes are somewhat slower than when I was in my twenties but not so much as to be noticeable. I have to admit that the odd game does give me motion sickness, but that's pretty rare. Not really into online gaming anymore though, but that's due to the racist, sexist, homophobic, whiny kids, would play with mates but they all feel too old to game
My dad is in his 80s and addicted to wow of all games

If any of you are on the PS4 add me, prefer to play with adults, at least you understand the annoyances of having a console but being too busy to play it most of the time...

ps3ud0

the last console I owned was a nintendo 8 bit. My little brother had a megadrive so played a lot of mario / sonic. Played the wipeouts on PS/PS2 and SSX snowboarding. Beyond that I'm more of a MAMEer than a gamer. I still have the muscle memory for Shinobi and love me a bit of rainbow islands or puzzle bobble.

PC wise i perfer indie stuff like Fez, Machinarium or Botanicula - all great games that don't require too much fast agility

Im 43 next month and as others have said my interest has died down lately,i use to buy every console on the day of release right up to the 360. I think i waited until the uncharted series was out for me to get a ps3' I still love playing most of codemasters racing games though, but don't think i'll ever get that feeling of immersion like i did when playing the ocarina of time in the dark for 4 to 5hrs at a time, might still get a xb1 or ps4 just for something new to tinker with.

40 here and been gaming about 25 years but i have got worse lol

when the first mw came out for the 360 i was hot and could hit anything anytime now i tend to cough cough camp and sneak out with a few sprays lol

still enjoy fifa and its pretty even between me and my 2 lads who are 16 and 18

do like single player games though and i am very fussy about what i buy without fail every year i will buy fifa, cod and gow if one is released and i always like to have a driving game and a wrestling game in the rack lol

enjoyed the golf game on 360 which u got from live the spooky one that was very good

got a one ordered and my boy has also and we will carry on the fifa battle

my mums neighbour is 75 and he has a ps3 which he is replacing with a ps4 he loves cod and has prestiged about 14 times lol so still life left in us yet

40 for 4 more months and seem to be getting back into it, but i never been particularly brilliant at games excluding ridge racer (first one) :D

I'm 35, I too suffer from motion sickness but only from FPS... its a good job I don't like playing them except for the odd title like borderlands /2 and dishonor.

I used to be such a hardcore gamer in the days of Sega Master System, Megadrive and Super Nintendo, but since I've gone to uni, that's when it kinda trail off. I still brought the playstation, playstation 2, playstation 3 and Nintendo GBA and DS, no doubt I will get a PS4, vita and 2/3DS at some point too. But the games I tend to play have been limited normally Street Fighter and the odd platform and driving game.

Its only recently since I've been living on my own and not much cash that I've been pouring the hours into games and started to enjoy it. I have a massive backlog of 'retro' games to catch up on.

43 and still enjoy gaming, mostly World of Tanks although thats on PC and not console. In a clan which is made of oldies, (Band of Fathers) and I think theres one guy in his 60's. Really enjoy my sons 3DS as well.

39, only really got back into gaming after the saturn with the 360. When games went to 3D from the classic 2D platformers and FPS came along I used to struggle badly with motion sickness on CRT's. That's when I got into RTS games on the PC.

TFT's stopped that for me so I got back into games on console.

Since the birth of my son 4 years ago I slowed down my gaming considerably. I've played a handful of games the last 3 years as that time is more important to me than game time. I've gone from about 50-70 games per year to about 3 :D

What I have noticed though after having just about all of 2013 off gaming is some games are starting to give me motion sickness again, not sure if that's due to age or not being used to it anymore :D

I no longer have the desire to play everything.

Motion sickness also impacts me and I've pretty much stopped playing now. Ironically the cure for motion sickness suggests you need to play more!

35 in December, can still remember enjoying stuff like ant attack on the spectrum, that's what...26/7 years ago?

My interest and enjoyment in gaming hasn't really waned, though I play a lot less due to real life (tm)

Edit - I find I'm much more choosy than in the past in terms of games/categories, still adore fps's, racing games and strategic stuff.

Im 47 and while I still play, I don't play as much as I used to and even though we have 2 PS3's and 2 Xbox 360's in the house I mainly play Battlefield 3 and 4 or World of tanks on my PC.
