*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Playing COD on the ps4. Small bits of slowdown... Very much like any other COD, except a higher resolution. You can tell they're using the exact same engine as the last gen, cos the shadows are still a little poor.

Played fifa14 also. Game is the least visual upgrade, as you would expect. Crowd is much more detailed, but when are you ever looking at the crowd? The cut scenes are equally as pap as the last gen..

Battlefield 4 is so far the best looking game out of my 3 i have. 900p or not, it looks the bomb on my Panasonic 50" GT25 THX plasma.

Annoyed PSN is still down from 5pm. (im on eastern now 7pm) better be up soon)
 
Picked up my two PS4's at midnight on the 15th but haven't had much time to really play with it yet. I couldn't get logged into PSN until about 3 in the morning but am about to finally sit down and play some Killzone.

Indeed. Honestly my biggest disappointment is the lack of decent release titles, especially since I have BF4 & Ghosts on the PC already. I'm looking forward to playing through AC and KZ though :). That and even though I have a 30" screen on the PC, it's nothing compared to gaming on the 80" TV!

Yes, I'll be getting two of those as well. I don't discriminate :p, despite the fact that I'd say the PS4 is technologically superior, I do like certain features the XB1 has and I'd like to play some of the games on there too.

Whoa, BF4 just crashed on GB livestream, and wiped it's own save file :O Glad I have the campaign already completed on PS3, because that would really suck!

Yep like ZG says, iceman is a rather lucky boy, some of the cars he has owned are incredible :) of course this means he is the envy of every guy here :p

No excuse for slowdown on a console that has literally just been released, still peeved at how underpowered these are I would have expected something that comfortably plays 1080p when is probably meant to last the next five years.
 
Resolution was never the issues on consoles for me it was the low texture quality and the lack of AA and AF, I know resolution helps with AA but certainly not at 1080p you still need AA on to help with them.

For me if they said ok we have to run at 900p but because of that we have doubled the AA and AF quality and have got higher resolution textures, I would be happier with that.

What graphics card are these new consoles equivalent too in pc terms ?, for me it feels they have skimped in this department when the Ps3/360 came out they were pretty much up there with the pc's for a bit.

LOL at the conspiracy theories going on in this thread, isn't it more likely as said they had a deadline to meet to MAKE sure the games were out on release ?, imagine if Battlefield, COD and assassins creed didn't make launch what would we have to buy for these consoles no one would bother. Get them out playable at a lower resolution and up them after and iron out any faults, lets be honest it happens in the pc market patches to fix games all the time on release.

go play COD in 1080p on a £400 pc (Which is what these are effectively) and let us know how that goes.
