2014 FIFA World Cup Play-Offs and International Friendlies 14-19 November *** Spoilers ***

Sanchez was solid all evening.

As for England - I'd rather have seen an experimental team lose, than the usual tell us nothing new. I didn't think it was too bad overall considering how many of them hadn't played together before.

lol

Yas was complaining when I said he gets sent off or gives away a pen so often :p

:p meh Kos can be a retard at the best of times but so far he seems to have sorted himself out with regards to Arsenal...hasnt given away that many penalties neither has he been sent off all that much this season.

As long as he doesnt do that when playing for us, im happy enough.

Damn was hoping Sweden would have beaten Portugal tonight, 2nd leg should be interesting.

As for the England game, pure borefest other than watching Sanchez play.

Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled his best mark for goals in a calendar year: 63. In 2012 he did it in 71 games; this time he's done it in 54.

Didn't see the game, did England get schooled?

"Heading for Defeat" would have been a more apt title.

Boring game and not a good performance. England lacking in all departments but Rooney got a few marks for effort. They had problems with Chile's attacking play so all bodes well for Brazil. Sanchez had a good game and Chile could have scored more.

Being beaten by (arguably) the poorest South American is a disturbing thought :p

Hope the media doesn't build us up to actually do well in Brazil as they'll be disappointed.

Watched the Japan game tonight. It's no exaggeration to say that they are a completely different team with Kagawa playing. When he came on in the second half, Holland barely touched the ball. Japan were all over them and could have scored 1 or 2 more.

Not international, but league football - 6 wins in a row, 2 of those were consecutive 5-0s, Uwe on Football Forum, former chairman making waves as Head of the FA and £175 on an accumulator. Good day to be a Bee :)

Wolves away in a week, and then Peterborough at home the following Tuesday. 4 points out of those two games and we could easily go unbeaten well into the new year!

I think England are in danger of not scoring a single goal at the world cup if in a decent group.

No real threat at all except for Rooney.

Struggled to score last world cup as well and the team isn't any better.

Slow reply, but I wouldn't agree with that. Sturridge is an out and out goalscorer, Rooney (at present) is in far better form than he ever has been before in the run-up to a major tournament, and Rickie Lambert is this year's Carroll/Heskey, but is a far better footballer than both combined.

I'm not for a second saying that I'm confident that we'll do anything in this tournament, but in my opinion this team is better than any that I remember (albeit much less solid defensively). The way we played in the final two qualifying matches was almost exciting, and I haven't been able to say that for a long time!
