so i just bought my first r9 280x and in a little while im planning on buying another for crossfire

im a little bit worried about my PSU and ive asked around some people says its fine and some say its not i have a corsair AX 860w PSU
rest of my PC:
i7 4770k (overclocked to 4.5ghz)
16gb ddr3 ram 2 sticks at 2400mhz
MSI GD65 motherboard
4 hard drives (1 SSD and 3 mechanical drives)
blu ray drive
corsair h100i
8 case fans
6 channel fan controller (50 watts per channel)

with all that can my PSU handle crossfire or should i upgrade it?

During gaming you should be pulling around 600w max with 2 cards and system.

If fancy it get one of these: Clicky to monitor power consumption.

Slightly off topic but similar, does anyone know the PSU requirements for crossfire r9 290s or crossfire r9 290X? Seem to find different info on the net - my PSU is Corsair modular 750watt, Cheers!

750W is too low for two R9 290s.

They need around 370W to 420W each under load (more or less as much as GTX780 OC).

In your position with the i7 930, I would get a 7990 and upgrade the rest of the system with the money of the second 290/290X if thats is your budget.
