It hasn't really got anything to do with gpus but it's impossible to get an answer from anyone in the bf4 pc games sub section unless your a regular.

So my question is, why is my bf4 only using 2.2gb of system ram? It used to use 6.5 on bf3, is it just 'better optimisation' I don't know really know. Could you guys tell me what yours is using?

Playing on a mix of high and ultra no aa 1080p, 70-80fps.

Specs in sig thanks.

It is just better optimised I would guess and would say that using 6.5GB on BF3 seems extremely excessive and I would say something was at fault to use that much.

I want receipts please, 6.5GB of ram? crazy talk.

There are many reports from people in the memory forums saying that with a couple of things open plus bf3 they have come close to hitting 8gb

Are you talking about VRAM? If talking about normal ram then check you are using 64bit version of the exe not 32, see Origin settings

System ram. Once installed it gave me 2 launch options, so I deleted the 32 icon and always use the 64 is there something else in origin I should enable?

With everything on ultra it's using just over 2gb of video ram & 5.25gb of system ram.

Windows 8 uses 1.2 so when bf4 is loaded up it's at around 3.3/8
I'm getting great performance with tweaked graphics settings so that's not the problem it's just bugging me why 8gb is recommended when it's just about using 2 :s

Yes, the 2 icons on desktop actually make no difference they take you to Battlelog. On Origin right click the game and go Game Properties and then when launching this game choose x64 rather than the 32bit option of x86. Enjoy
