*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

It'd more difficult to call them fakes when they have the Amazon Verified Purchase moniker next to them. You have to have bought the PS4 in order to review it so it just seems odd that you'd buy a PS4 and then **** it off in a review. But as they say, there's nowt as queer as folk.

There is some verified but also loads of unverified...

There does appear to be a lot of bitterness floating around on various forums and review sites towards the PS4, bricked consoles, blue flashing lights, HDMI ports, yet you then read websites where they ask how you getting on to real PSN users, and it paints a whole different story.

Can't help feel, a lot of pro xbox 360 users are a little hurt Sony got to market first a smaller, more powerful and cheaper console then Microsoft did, and received a lot of positive feedback up towards the launch and enjoyed very good pre order numbers.

Sour grapes i guess for some...

folks only ever write up to complain most of the time, you hear all about the bad in everything, but no one ever takes the time to say anything nice about anything anymore.

We don't see many OMG this game is amazing and so happy I got this game posts, but you see plenty of OMG this game is a pile of poo posts.. Quickly followed by hundreds more saying the same, despite millions maybe enjoying the game.. I remember that about GT5. So much negative talk about that game, yet I swear more enjoyed it then ****ged it off.

But not any wrote up and said OMG amazing game GT5.

It is a little concerning and should mine arrive useless it will be a lot of heartache and hassle...but at least it's well inside the warranty :p

If my Ps4 arrived broken and i have to send it back to shopto it wont be for a replacement, i'll be getting a refund...my confidence in this machine is diminishing by the day reading about these tech issues.

I know it will be exaggerated but still.

if it is broken - but I'm sure it will be fine then just don't try to be too mad and get it replaced. I wrote a few pages back about a £1400 alienware laptop that died within a few hours. I spent two weeks sorting it out, but have had 11 months troublefree and a great time using the laptop since it got replaced.

Sadly, this is tech, it is well known for it. Some fair better then others. 360 owners had an awful time with RROD. But they just keep getting them replaced. Not ideal, but the 360 was such an enjoyable games console consumers even though not happy with it, put up with it and got extended warranties etc...

The problem Is there is limited stock as it is for launch, should my machine be faulty its going to take shop to ages to be able to replace it, possibly past Christmas... I'd prefer the money back.

Back in December 2012, Alienware M17x laptops were on a 4 week waiting list. I got a replacement after fighting it out with tech support a week after they agreed to replace it.

I don't know who much stock sony has for break fix, so it might not be all doom and gloom.

Hey, your console could be fine, don't get the internet scaremongers put you off.

Of course you can...they'll have plenty of stock of Battlefield :)

i'd be amazed if they ran out of games, controllers or all the extras you can spend your hard earned wedge on..

i'd maybe get a replacement HDMI lead, from all accounts the freebie in the box is pretty poor - even for HDMI lead standards.

Had my PS4 on pre order for ages now but with all overheating and bricking/no display issues I think I'm going to cancel the order :(. I havent had a proper console in over a year since my PS3 bit the dust via YLOD (after years and years of 1st class service though). Was really looking forward to this aswell more so than the PS3 infact even booked time off work!

Anyone else cancelled due to all the problems? Might just be over thinking things and worried.

I wouldn't cancel.

Worst case is you get a brick and get it refunded (no worse off than cancelling). Best case you are happy as Larry as you have a console you are happy with.

Cancelling only leads to disappointment as you wont get another this side of 2014

Isn't the amount of bricked only 0.4% anyway? That's pretty acceptable in terms of mass production and as montymint says if you're incredible unlucky and is it bricked just get a replacement, you get 1 year warranty. After that just extend it.

I would just like to hear some hard facts about the situation ie. how many bought, what percentage of those with problems etc.

It almost appears like it could be some kind of smear campaign by xbox lovers as the flame war between the two has turned into the most ridiculous thing ever.

I am holding on to the belief that there must be thousands of consumers extremely happy with their purchase and all it has offered them.

I will remain positive and excited until I know otherwise.
