Should Gary Barlow return his OBE?

Then do something else, contribute to the exchequer by buying your daughter her own TV so she can watch Gary Barlow in peace.

She has her own TV.

But I'm not going to send her to her room like a punishment. That would mean Barlow would have won.

No he can be on. And I can moan.:p

Name and shame...At least this way we get Noel on Xfactor

So, the truth is that you secretly love Gary Barlow, but are jealous of what he has so feel the need to denigrate him to make yourself feel better about yourself... ;)

Gary Barlow : seems like a nice bloke, sings a tune or two, probably gives a lot to charity, gets awards.

OP : seems like a bitter asshat.

I just think its a tad rich...

How many here would pay more tax than they are legally obliged to ? If loopholes are being exploited then the government should close them.

If I was earning hundreds of millions...I serioulsy dont think I would care.

200million or 300 million in the bank...I have more money than I need. Plus my royalties would constantly be topping this up if I became a fat dancer again.

I certainly wouldn't be putting effort in.

Now the self employed man struggling to pay his workers or to keep his business afloat thats different.

I'm not saying its right...But I can understand the drive to do it more in my latter point.

If someone is legally not paying tax on their earnings then it's none of your business to harass them over it.

That's them not being ignorant about how to look after their money or at least being able to employ accountants.

If you have an issue with ways that people can reduce their tax legally and it keeps you up at night frothing with rage then go bother your MP.

Easyrider clearly doesn't understand tax, which is fine, but using it to pick on one celeb that's actually done a lot for people in Britain is missing the wider point.

He could do more. Just by paying his Tax.

See what I did there....

Not really. Everyone could do more, this seems to be more about your dislike for the man and the programme than the actual issue of tax avoidance and charitable work.

Why don't you do more by voluntarily giving 80% of all your income to ukgov? You won't?! Tax avoiding scumbag!!

What if he's avoiding tax legally so that he can donate more to charity? How does that fit with your black and white view on the world?

I would certainly consider that if I was in his position. Dumping your earnings into the tax system for the government to do what they want with would seem less likely to good than choosing causes you believe in and supporting them.
