Polo that I found very badly parked further up the road from my car that night (at about 4:30pm)?? there is damage to it's front end, but I didn't want to accuse the driver when they turned up at 5:30!! especially as I'd not witnessed the incident, or seen the CCTV at that point!!

Yeah, looking at the video I'm convinced it's the Polo - the rear side window looks like it kicks up slightly which is more in keeping with a 5 door Polo than a Golf.

EDIT: Just saw your picture above - that's quite a coincidence right there!

That's exactly the type of car I was thinking. Has similar multi spoke alloys as the guilty car from your CCTV too.

If you look a the clip where you first catch a glimpse of the car between the hedges you can make out the front and it clearly looks like the front of the badly parked car.

I'd say with the 4:3 ratio its a Polo. Bit too much of a coincidence you found one badly parked with damage to the osf just down the road. I think you have a winner there bud.

I found the Polo about 100 yards up the road further on, at the corner of the grey building you can see in the distance.

however i would have thought this alone wouldn't be enough as its just circumstantial.

Tell the police and maybe they will send out their CSI crew and see if they can match the paint? either way i would do something asap to avoid him/her getting it fixed and removing any evidence

If it was real CSI they would zoom in on the car on those stills and generate a crystal clear reflection of OP's car next to it and the crime being committed.

Don't get me wrong, the evidence is compelling, but what has made you single out the Polo from the CCTV
