I go to the APP store but it doesn't seem to be there. Is there any other ways to do it? I can download other updates from the settings but not 8.1.

If you can't find it in the app store then it usually means you need to run windows update on your W8 client as you are missing certain updates.

Or

You can force the app store to get the update. Open Internet Explorer and paste in

ms-windows-store:WindowsUpgrade

to the URL bar

Via the app store. Is there another way to upgrade then?

Short of running Windows setup again directly and upgrading that way I don't know of one.

You have to download the full 8.1 .iso, which is only *officially* available via the volume licensing platforms (+ MSDN, technet etc.)

This will then let you do an in-place upgrade, either within windows, or by booting it as if it was a install disk.

Or, if you wish to do it silently/autonomously, setup.exe /auto:upgrade

We have this pushed out to all Windows 8 systems as a package in SCCM.

SCCM is by far the easiest way to do it, I'm assuming this is for a home installation though.

Beware the auto installer, any errors and it simply terminate - it will NOT give you any indication that it has done so. (nor why)
