Help me identify this car please...

'Abandoned' just up the road... on a corner, Double Yellow Lines... Half on Half off the pavement... oh and the doors were unlocked (drivers door wasn't closed properly, with Sat-Nave etc still in the vehicle)... it just made me look twice, then I saw the scuff/damage on the front bumper that matched the rear bumper of mine...

That's why I didn't came out and 'accuse' her when she came back to her car at 5:30. :)

*sexist mode on" Knew it would be a women!
I wonder why she abandoned it like that, something must have broke on her car!

Anyway good luck, I think it might be a battle proving it as the cctv alone isn't conclusive enough.

As I said, I know the coincidence suggests it's this Polo. But you've ruled out every other car that drove through the CCTV footage.

Why would she leave it all unlocked like that? What a ****

Tbh if I had found that polo I would have reported it crashed into my car and been abandoned in that position. :P

Now that you've narrowed down the search (at the very least), can you get any more CCTV/alternative angles? Any other buildings down the road that have CCTV pointing out towards the road? Might be able to get one from before the incident, and then one after - this would be able to rule out whether it caused the damage or not, and give you more sway over it being coincidence.

Good work on getting this far though, hope it gets followed through!

I did! :D

I went to my local Police station last night (the incident happened in Uxbridge, I live in Swindon) and got a "Failure to Stop" form filled out, giving details of the other local CCTV (which wouldn't give me anything as I'm a civilian!) and the details of the 'Abandoned' polo...

Just got to wait for the letter with an 'incident number' to come back from them for me to send it off with all the rest of the information to the Legal bods at Admiral.

Young driver, new driver, shaken and panicked, probably not thinking straight, car may have been undrivable (heavy knock on front left may have messed up the steering, anything), so she just parks up and leaves it without thinking. Maybe she parked it because she wanted to play the 'My car's been there all weekend' card or something.

It's not totally unreasonable to think something like that happened.
