Nexus 5 great....but useless

So il explain.
Just bought a lovely new nexus 5, turn on go through settings ect and installing APN settings for giffgaff

BUT


Google doesnt work and so i cannot use hangouts, or any apps,

So have a completely useless phone, yay

I dont understand why i cannot sign into google.(could it be to do with my old sc2 phone breaking and somehow google is locked onto that phone or something like tht??)

PLEASE help as this phone is useless right now..

Can you access the internet at all? i.e. is you data connection working?
What happens when you try to sign into Google on the phone?

Can you get online ? If yes then is it your google account you can't sign into ? Have you tried wifi?

Is it a Gmail account or you own domain?

I had an issue in the past (year or so ago) that certain permissions were not set correctly in my domain app account with Google.

Was something odd like YouTube not enabled correctly.

It stopped most of the Google services working.

I have to generate individual passwords for each device I link to my Google account. Not sure if that's only required if you enable 2-factor authentication enabled. If you log into Google through a browser the options are in you account security settings somewhere.

Oh and try to be less melodramatic. I came to this thread expecting to find some fundamental flaw with Nexus 5 phones!

Its working now and what seemed to of happened is that the nexus 5 needs different APN settings to the standard ones given by giffgaff.

Phone now up and running very impressed by the speed of apps and the immersion feature is awesome.

care to share what these settings are so that other people may avoid the problems you clearly had.

No it doesn't, it needs the same Giffgaff APN as every other Android phone.
