Dead motherboard or psu?

The only reason I bought the ocz was because it loads of people reccomeded it on this forum

Yeahh... I personally dont think there is anything wrong with them? Are you thinking back to the days of the Sirtec OEM ModXstreams wazza?

There has been lots of issues with them and gigabyte boards, simply not working ect
over on tweaktown
They could have improved since then Idk,I'm only guessing its psu tbh but id start with that first

Well the PSU is also in warranty. Try the system with a different PSU if you can. :)

I think its a little unfair that everyone is assuming its the PSU based on what it is, it isn't exactly a WinPower.

Not really blaming it as such... it could still be other things... its just that its the safer way to go about it, if the PSU is borked it could break anything that is plugged into it.

Would be a bit silly getting the MB replaced only for the borked PSU to damage it like it potentially has already.

khevolution - Post your full machine components.

I thought I already had, apparently I hadn't.

I've already listed my motherboard the rest of my system is an Ivy bridge i5, msi hd7850 gpu and 2x 2tb wd hdd and 8gb of ram

If you are not going to overclock anything then you should get away with a 400w PSU with your system. It has two rails one at 22A and one at 20A, and a total of 30A or 360 watts. 7850 pulls what 12 amps?

Go for it, can't argue with the price, should be fine.

Well new psu just arrived (another speedy delivery from over clockers) plug it all in, there was a brief flash of light from the motherboard on/off led, but still nothing, so I assume it's safe to think it's my motherboard that is dead?
