Chap makes biggest GTX690 model ever out of Lego

It's great that he made himself the biggest 690 but... Will it run Crysis (or whatever the most stressful game is at the moment)?

Sheesh, that requires a lot of dedication though. Now imagine his face if someone accidently drops it ;).

He spent $10k on this ...did I read that correctly? Gosh, yesterday someone spends $9,000 for a Gundam Model and today THIS? Kids eh!
The 10K Yuan was on the lego, so it should be around £1K cost of lego parts for building that.

As for your thinking of the Nu Gundam model that went for US$9K being a "toy" for kid, then you are saddly mistaken. The amount of effort went into the extensively modding and paint work added the preceived value, making that and one of the kind. It's like...we all know how much the GTX780Ti "only" priced at around £550-£650+...now imagine there's a GTX780Ti that can run at 1800MHz core clock on the default air cooler with temp not excessing 80C, and there's only one in the world, pretty sure it will go far beyond $9000 in an auction, and non-PC gamers would be commenting like you and say "Geeks eh!" :D

First, allow me to make a brief introduction. I am a super fan of NVIDIA

I once visited NVIDIA’s US headquarters and got the English and Chinese signatures of Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang. I am the coolest NVIDIA-fan ever.

 Oh lordy.

Well, at least he didn't bring a Nvidia Shield to the HQ and request a laser engrave of English and Chinese signatures of Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang on the back :D

He does sound a bit odd criticising the other graphics card made out of lego.

Several months ago, I saw a graphics card made of Lego blocks by an A-fan on the Internet. The making of this card was so rough and its shape so ugly that I could not believe that this person was dubbed as the world’s coolest A-fan.

Oh, my goodness, these interfaces were coarsely made

Wtf?

I stand corrected. £1000 ain't so bad to considering cost of Lego. That Gundam mod is top notch too (obviously not a toy). Kudos to both kids for their efforts; looks like it will pay off for them.

I'm starting to find it interesting what "value" people place on objects. Clearly this is different from my own opinion but valid nonetheless.

Take the GTX780Ti which I feel is not good value for money at it's current price. But saying that, I own watches that range from £500 to £3.5k, all of which hold value to me.... to a PC enthusiast that would be money down the drain!
