4K Display at $699

As long as it's 39/40" that's fine by me! I suppose HDMI 2 would also be fine, I'd imagine DP > HDMI 2 adapters would do the same job and get 4K@60Hz anyway.

$788.81 including shipping + import fees on the rainforest website which going by xe.com works out at £489!

its $499 dollars + tax at the mo on sears.com and $500 odd in canada i was going to buy one and send it back to england to my dads but no point as it can only do 30hz at 4k :(

Unless your dad plays video games it's not an issue

All movies play at 24p so he's not going to notice the difference.

EDIT: coming to think about it, it's an LCD monitor so hz will play a role in it..if it was plasma it wouldn't be much of an issue.

But again, he can always turn it to 1080p with 60hz (note: the company says that the tv does 120hz in full hd, it doesn't do that nativelly, it only does 60hz and pushes it to 120hz with software, read the FAQ on their website).

It's not much more than a month to CES 2014 where they may well have an HDMI 2 model to display? Might be worth waiting for that and also for more news about when they're coming to the UK.

Oh wow, I'm kinda tempted to save up a bit and get one of these.

Although waiting for a Displayport or HDMI 2 version able 30Hz might be just right.
All in all, it's not that badly priced at all.

It's a bit expensive for the average consumer. If Seiki can sell a 4K 60Hz HDMI 2 display for $700 plus VAT in the UK they'll get a few more sales.

Oh certainly! Although I wonder why they haven't started selling their current model here.

If people are prepared to import form the US they'll certainly buy it here. Even if its at a 1-1 conversion of $500 to £500.
