Not PCI-E... just bog standard PCI slot Graphics Cards?

I have a customer's PC which is a SCALEO-P and there is no AGP slot , just PCI slots and the onboard graphics has gone.

I think i had a matrox millenium - i see they still exist as a company - whatever happened to their gaming cards?

Basically, back in the 90's ATi/Nvidia went all out for D3D/OGL support instead of developing their own API, Matrox/S3/PowerVR/etc all followed 3DFX's lead and developed their own API. Game developers got sick and tired of having to support so many API's (Unreal Tournament supported 6 or 7 by the time the last patch was loaded) and started making games either D3D or OGL exclusive, this gave Nvidia/ATi a performance lead so everyone wanted their cards, their competitors tried to catch up but due to being behind in OGL/D3D support they withered and died (at least in the gaming card market).

If memory serves me, wasn't one of the Matrox cards the one to have for multi monitor setups back in the day? I'm pretty sure they were the only ones that supported multi displays without the need for extra boxes/cables coming out of your wazoo!
