Battlefield 4 Video Card Performance - AMD Vs Nvidia

The Nvidia drivers released yesterday apparently improve bf4 performance by up to 18%.
AMD do have a slight lead in BF4 which will get smaller compared to Nvidia. (Factor out Mantle).
But Factor in Mantle things will be much more favourable for Team Red.
Overall it will make Nvidia more competitive. This is a good thing for Nvidia fans/customers because quite obviously the harder AMD compete in price and now performance the bigger the selective pressure for team green to align their pricing structure and performance hierachy to AMD's.
What does it all mean?
If AMD are doing well, Nvidia customers are going to get more for less and hence do well too.
Surely that needs to be encourage guys particularly if you have a set affiliation and will never swap "sides" as it were.

Competition is good, albeit with the way BF4 is at the moment with regards to bugs I doubt many people will care by the time Mantle rolls out. Certainly doesn't help matters anyway.
If the last line of defence for the Nivida fanboys is the reference cooler then they must know the war is coming to the end just a few more weeks before its done
If Nivida keep its current price model they will have nothing to compete directly with amd at each price point.

Some really ridiculous comments flying about today.
That is great that they have worked on reducing the FPS crash spikes where e.g. destroying a tank, causes FPS to drop suddenly. I hate those sudden drops, it's the main reason I need to upgrade GPU. Or do I? My current card is actually fine with BF4 so far.

I have put a BF4 benchmark suggestion in the BF4 thread if anyone is intrested.
Ok how about this methodology, its very early in the game so no need to spend an hour getting to that point, a lot of stuff going on so it stresses the system properly, its basically a walk through, so little variation.
3 Different tests so most can take part.
Ultra Preset @ 1440P
Ultra Preset @ 1080P
Hight Preset @ 1080P
not exactly how i have the illustration vid, but..
Start the bench when the lift starts to move. look out at the gun ship all the time, run as fast as can. end bench right when screen goes dark on falling.
PS: no sound, don't adjust the dial

Im sure they are pretty old by now.
My guess would be that's why it's only 18% compared to the second to newest drivers and not 50%? /shrug
People are reporting actual tangible gains in BF4 though.
I can't test till my Battlelog suspension is up.

Quite surprised those performance gains were as much as I am getting. I thought it was a placebo effect but a couple of benches against older drivers have proven different. Also not sure why AMD owners are picking faults with what was said? It is like they don't want people seeing a performance increase or am I reading that wrong?

Was it justified? i had one, i complained and it was overturned with a "we will make sure it doesn't happen again" apology, it was completley rediculess, i hope the Mod responsible got a well deserverd dressing down

Mine was justified unfortunately. Not a forum ban it's a full BL ban. All I can say is you aren't allowed to have certain emblems. Even though I've seen people with far worse!
