Nice to se they have sorted it out at last. And, I need a new phone. Couldn't be timed better.

EDIT: actually, I don't think i will bother. It's £69 upfront and £41 a month for 2 years. I already have a £12 month unlimited sim only plan.

Plus I have a brand new ipad air, so I think I would be chucking money down the drain. Plus, I like the look of the new nexus 5. Would you say that's a better option?

I'm so confused, i'm talking Nexus as well. Why do I need to go the Apple forum when talking asking about whether or not to get a nexus?

iPhone 5 is old. They should be getting the 5s.

And yes there is a separate apple forum here.

I don't know? its random.. why have apple forum but not nokia, samsung, nexus, lg etc ?! IMO all apple should sit in apple forums because having topics about iPhones in here and in apple forum just makes no sense? we know that they are "special" but cmon :o:D

This is mobile PHONES you're talking iPhones so..

The iPhone is a mobile phone as well.

The reason that we have a separate Apple forum is because Macs are largely unfamiliar for those that don't own them. Which is fair enough. Means that Mac users who need help will get their questions answered rather than having their thread gradually sink down to the second page.

Those saying that this should go in the Apple forum, everybody there will say it belongs in the Mobile Phones forum.

Anyway, back on topic, go and have a play. If you rely heavily on integration between your Apple products (eg. Mac user who uses iCloud a lot) then an iPhone would be the better choice. If that doesn't matter, the Nexus 5 is absolutely worth looking at.

They won't, a the Apple dons wanted a walled garden for all Apple products to be discussed without any distractions so it's been that way for ages and they are all used to it in there too.

But when you're trying to have a comparison thread like this one it makes it confusing for someone to know where to post.

Well do you post a comparison thread in the Apple specific forum, or the forum that covers all the other products that one would compare to the Apple product? At the end of the day the iPhone is only one model, the Nexus 5/HTC One/S4/whatever are all better suited here. One device shouldn't mean the entire topic gets posted into a forum that is oriented against the rest.

No matter how we look at it though, it's difficult to get opinions without bias, which is a shame. Post here, the iPhone is "terrible" and vice versa.

I think the Apple section is for their Mac computers.

Phone/tablets here is fine for iPhones IMO, along with iPad, and I've seen plenty of discussion here on iOS devices. That includes discussion of comparing iOS with Android and Windows 8 mobile.
