Just expressing my opinion. We're all entitled to our opinions aren't we.
As someone who's already got a ps4 and as someone who's receiving an xbone on Fri and immediately swapping it for another ps4, I am entitled to express why i'm doing so, arn't i.
If the xbone was a smaller, faster machine, better thought through games console i wouldn't be swapping it.
You are one of the biggest Sony fangirls on this forum, you spent the whole last gen whinging about everything MS and as such anything you say is pretty irrelevant.

Yes a fangirl, who just happens to be 42 yr old father of two who owns an xbox 360 and two original xbox's, and has an xbone being delivered on Fri..

I also have a WiiU, which you've not heard me whine about. If MS didn't make such a poor subpar product, guess what? You wouldn't hear me complaining. BUT as it stands, they deserve a little grief from the likes of people like me.
I was even going to keep it and not swap it for a PS4 (for a loss might i add!), til i actually saw how poor of a product it was hardware wise in person.. Then to hear about how poor its performing, makes me think, even with a financial loss, it's the smartest thing to do.

The XB1 is overpriced and underpowered regardless what games come out for it. It should get a lot more grief from the mainstream media than it has been doing.
Even at the PS4's price point of £350 it still has vastly inferior hardware. It should be priced at £280 without Kinect and that's being generous to Microsoft.

That is actually all true though.
I was absolutely gutted when the inner details of the XB1 came out. GUTTED.
Many great memories of the 360 in the earlier years, loved the exclusives, loved the online play and the fact multi-plats were generally better for it at a LOWER PRICE POINT.
Feel like i'm starting the 6 year timer again for their next system already.
I prefer the intuitive UI and feature set on Microsoft consoles over anything else but cannot justify the price premium for lesser hardware.

Right from the name choosing, it was obvious MS haven't got the right decision makers at their helm.
I was trying to explain to my 7 yr old the other day, trying to get him excited that an xbox one was on its way, why the xbox one was better than the xbox 360...
It almost deserves to fail. If it does, history will hold against it everything that I am holding against it now. There's nothing the PS4 can't do, that the xbone can do.. Apart from talk to the stupid thing, which is fun for all of 30secs..... and its $100 more ???????????????

I'm also disappointed as I wanted the new XBOX to be competitive. You look at those latest 1080p screenshots the PS4 is putting out, there is a very noticeable difference.
No way would I pay £430 for that, its so cheeky and Microsoft should not get away with it, especially all the PR and lies they throw about. Cloud this blah blah.

? Isn't it just a console version of wndows 8 with voice commands? The said it's Sometimes hard to find the things you don't use much without voice.

But IF Microsoft dropped the price to £300 on the next hardware refinement, backed up by a nice back catalog of exclusives, they could win this generation in the mid to late game.
As it stands, they've got zero chance.
Anyway, PS4 thread.
Here's hoping they don't drop a system busting update (1.57 or some crap) a day before we get our hands on them. Always worry about these smaller incremental updates they do. LoL

Don't get this argument of "whatever your friends will use" in the decision of purchasing a console either. Last gen it made sense, but now it would mean that all your friends are buying into something that is less powerful and more expensive. Why would a group of people be that stupid?
Exclusives are now the only reason to get one over the other.

I honestly don't know what real exclusives there are.
Microsoft have shown their hand with Titanfall.
Sony have hinted at an Uncharted game and we know about Infamous.
I don't think they are giving us anything to work with at all. Absolute bugger all in a potential mass catalogue of original IPs to get excited over.
Not like you have a choice between the Gears of War series or Resistance is it.
I opted for a PS4 (game wise) because they have more 1st party studios and a greater chance of getting more exclusives. Whether they are good or not remains to be seen.
Knack and Killzone are both shockingly rubbish.

Been trying to explain that to folks, they keep throwing the "But but but ..teh 360 was less powerful but multiplatforms run better".
They have no idea that the two new architectures are similar, just that one is beefier.
Yup he's a kid who understands numbers and the greater the number, then the better it is...
In his 7yr old mind, which doesn't read IGN or gaming mags, an xbox one, must surely mean that its the first xbox, and surely slower than the 360, which has a higher number.
OK small kids who doesn't fully understand aren't the decision makers, but this 7yr old ISNT asking his old man for an xbox one for christmas to a parent. It gets worse when its a parent who also doesn't read ign and gaming mags.
Why make a decision like that? Even if it slows down the sell of a few thousand consoles with the un-aware ?
So..umm..you kid doesn't know that a new console no matter what its called coming out after the 360 he has played on would be the better of them?...really?...cause that's kinda a concern.
