Also worth keeping an eye out for "Wii U Remote Plus Additional Set", contains remote and nunchuk. Can sometimes pick a set up for under £40.

I'll admit...I too was worried! The first trailer they decided to show for the game got a fairly lukewarm reception, and rightly so, which had ok graphics and ok gameplay on appearance at least...

Then a few months later along comes a new trailer courtesy of a Nintendo Direct which absolutely turned me on to the game! All of a sudden we got to see stunning graphics and lighting effects, frantic multi and single player gameplay and everyone's opinion changed.

The reviews show just how strong an entry this is from the series and clearly stands alongside Galaxy in terms of the pinacle of platforming gaming.

I seriously cannot wait for this to be delivered as it looks like it'll be just an absolute joy to experience and play.
 
Weird how with all this Xbox and ps4 malarky that the Wii u is starting to interest me...

Donkey Kong is Feb, Mario Kart should be April/May, Smash Bros should be the first half of the year.

Fast Racing internet chatter today - I think we're going to see it Summer 14. Shin'en is starting to communicate with people over game features. 4k - 8k textures.

Donkey Kong Feb, Mario Kart Mar/Apr (that's when I think it will land), Smash Bros 1st half of the year...

I'm sure Nintendo will attempt to keep the momentum going with announcements via Nintendo Direct as 2014 goes along.
 
Mine is with Zavvi so I'll be lucky to see it on time. :p

I'm having some Zelda time now though so I might see how long I can keep Mario World in the wrapper! :eek:

It's great to have a backlog :)

To be fair amazon weren't much better with COD:Ghosts...came on the Friday after release :rolleyes:

I also used Gameseek,they always deliver early or on release day and they helped me out with a ps4 order at late notice after my preorder with Blockbusters went **** up.
 
Ok I've been sufficiently spooked by Zavvi's poor delivery reputation.

Switched to Gameseek, paid up.

Just wondering whether the gamepad is a useable controller with 3D Mario World? With SMBU it wasn't, which was rather irritating. Does anyone know?

I've got a gamepad (obviously), one pro controller and one wiimote so I'm hoping I can get 3 player co-op out of that - we can't play any more than 2 player co-op on SMBU.

I've bought my two girls Wii Party U so there's another wiimote in the house but it's for xmas opening not end of Nov opening. :p
 
I'm really tempted to get a Wii U at the moment having read the last few pages of this thread...

Really fancy playing New Super Mario Bros and 3D world. Not too too interested in Wind Waker HD, I enjoyed the game on gamecube but not enough to warrant playing again in higher res I think. I really really want a new Zelda game on Wii U though. Also fancy getting a 3DS XL with new Pokemon and new Zelda, but that's another topic.


Only issue is I don't have a TV and also don't really have any place in my room for one! :( Also money is an issue atm! Gah. I was going to connect it to my 27" 1440p monitor but it only has a Dual link DVI connector and HDMI adapter won't work apparently.

Ideally I want:

50" 1080p TV
Wii U 32gb Black
Wii U Pro Controller x4
Wii U Remote Plus x4
Wii U Numchuck x4

New Super Mario Bros U
Super Mario 3D World
Wind Waker HD (Maybe)

Honestly you would be foolish to miss out on WW if you want zelda,
For me this remake is how it should have been when released.

Controversial, But i think it is my Definitive Zelda now as opposed to The link to the past or Ocarina of Time
 
I cancelled my PS4 pre-order a few months ago.

I figured out that I could get a Wii U with Mario/Luigi and Super Mario 3D world, and also a 3DS XL Zelda edition and get 3DS Mario free for the same price as a PS4 with a game.

I find that the Wii U will be more family friendly. I already backed Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous and have a big steam library. I'll get most of the other multi-plat console games on PC too.
 
Wind Waker has always been my personal favourite Zelda, pirate theme with fantastic exploration and fun combat/puzzles. Sold. This HD version is just sublime, controls are tight and the textures look very painterly and beautiful. Only got to Dragonroost Island though.

I love OoT though, that's 2nd.
