I used to think this was just a bit of a fanboy phrase. However since owning the N5 (and to some extent the N7) I can really understand why people stick with them!
Which is?

Loads of reasons:
- Changeable battery
- Better Screen
- SD Card
- Larger battery
- Better speakers
The Nexus5 is not the best Android phone on the market despite everyone trying to make it. Its a good phone for the price but that doesn't make it the best phone. Even the budget Moto G has shown that it shows Blacks better than the Nexus5.
The Nexus range will never be the best android phones on the market but they are not intended to be.

Has anyone used the N5 as a wireless dongle? I'm not having much success
I've enabled the option in the wireless settings on the phone, but my computer's just not seeing the network through the phone when I do. Drivers seem to be installed correctly as I can access the phone over USB, and ADB works fine. :S
I have and it works (Hotspot) without any issues, try configuring the settings etc
Can't be a driver issue as drivers are not linked to the hotspot bit anyway its just your wifi detecting N5 as a hotspot.
Definite reproducable problem where my vibration stops halfway through a text and stays off, phonecalls don't even make it vibrate after it happens. Happily Google have sent me a new one and I have a few days to return this one. Im half expecting them to say there's nothing wrong with it but i don't even think they'll care.
Any one know which shops are stocking these?
Vanilla Android and latest updates do it for me to me honest, my last 3 phones have been Nexus devices and I have a Nexus 7,
At the moment there isn't a phone on the market id rather have, maybe the LGG2 but I didn't like the plastic feel and some times I think I would have liked the sony xperia z1 but with both I would have wished Id stuck to the Nexus 5.
After the experience I've had with my Nexus I think I'd rather put up with the drawbacks TBH. Usability matters to me more than bells and whistles.
I wasn't going to list them as they're the general points that come up fairly often.
I moved from an S4 to the N5, and so far I'm totally sold! Overall the device is just a lot nicer to use day to day. Yes it's a bit newer, so that accounts for much of the better hardware, but I've just found the experience actually using it to be nicer.
Speed wise compared with the S4 it's shockingly quick. I thought the S4 was fast, but this takes it to a different level. I won't list all the improvements/comparisons as they're well documented elsewhere. There's also the modding/rooting aspect, which is even simpler on the Nexus lines. A big point for me is not having to deal with KNOX/flash counters any more, so not needing to worry about warranties disappearing!
To be honest a lot of it will be personal preference, but I can understand why a lot of people swear by the Nexus range.
Funny you should say that because i have an S4 but have a Nexus 5 on order too. I have no doubt the N5 will be faster but i think that's partly due to the 4.4 update and the bare bone Android. I wonder how much faster it will be when you have installed a custom rom (when they are available) and a few tweaks/customisations....
The modding is defo better on Nexus devices- one of the reasons why i had the N4 and now the N5 on order.
Im just wondering how good it will be out the box compared to the S4....?
Obviously faster but what about all the bugs and issues. Camera being for one (i know there is a fix on the way but when will that reach us?). From reviews it seems that the screen is better on the S4...blacks being black where as on the N5 blacks appear dark grey.
I'll have an N5 soon to compare it to my S4.
