Ideally I like a little box that does the following:-

1 - runs XBMC
2 - runs Netflix
3 - Youtube Channel
4 - Does Dolby DTS/5.1
5 - BBC iPlayer/TV Catchup
6 - Trailers (such as Apple Trailers)
7 - Airplay from my iPad

Is there such a thing out there? (I can live without 6 to 7 I guess)

My ATV2 did all that for £100, so that's the budget.

If you're not set on XBMC you could use the next best (actually better) thing, PLEX.

With their server/client infrastructure it makes it a lot more suited for multiple clients.

Reason I mention it is because they've figured out a way to stream to the ATV3 without jailbreaking it: https://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/forum/136-appletv-plexconnect/

So if you're happy with airplaying iPlayer from your phone to your ATV3 then it would meet all your needs.

Is £200+ the standard now then? I sold mine for £170 and was happy with that!

Placeholder if you have an ATV2 with xbmc then yeah you can probably make a decent profit.

WIll try restoring the ATV 2 to see if I can bring it back from the dead later but if that can't, I am thinking about the Roku 3?

I have a Netgear ReadyNas 104, install Plex on it, Plex on the Roku...

What is the interface like for WD TV with regard to my own media?

I would like it to look like something like Plex/XBMC, or is it just a bunch of folders?

I saw your thread, and the hit and miss scraping do concern me. I've tried plex before, with my iPad and it picks up absolutely everything, actually more then XBMC. if XBMC is 99% then plex is like 99.5%.

On that note, I've reserved a roku 3 to be picked up tonight. Shouldn't take long to set up as I've got a plex server set up already in my iMac. It'll just shave to do until I get my NAS set up and migrate my media to that and put plex on the NAS.

The rest of the apps like YouTube will have to be consumed from my computer I guess.

Nope, never heard of it....

On the other hand, I just brought my ATV2 back from the dead! Will just need to jailbreak it again.

Woot!
