other than the 280x toxic what is best next to it for the price?

so the bf4 is now bundled with the cards :) which makes it the right time for me to upgrade to a new graphics card can anyone recomend a good 280x that is not far off the toxic but nice on the wallet I want to order one before work and have it for the weekend :)

so are the psu requirements a load of bull?, will my 3 harddrives draw much power? I never really look into what uses what more of a does this run this, ok sound im buying that
 
The CX500 won't run a 280x. The CX500 only has 2 6-Pin's and the 280x needs a 6-Pin and an 8-Pin.

Hard drives use about 5W each.

Both nvidia and AMD overstate power requirements. Cheaper PSUs can't provide enough power where it matters.
 
I was wanting to sell my graphics card in my old setup taking 80-90 off the price of the 280 I have more money but I cant be selfish when xmas is right around the corner if it will handle it for now, ill use my psu until after xmas and then ill buy one maybe in jan sales

As long as the 12v rail is good enough, using the PCI-E adapter that comes with the graphic card would be fine. It was never the issue of using the PCI-E adapters themselves, but more to do with people using them with generic PSU with pants 12v rail trying to power high power gaming graphic cards.

There should be an adapter comes with the card...I'm not sure if they are gonna provide you with one of two.

You should be plug your PCI-E 6+2 pin into one of the two 8pin PCI-E socket on the card, and for the other one, just use the adapter cable that comes with the card (the adapter cable could be any of the following: single PCI-E 6pin to single PCI-E 8pin, single molex to single PCI-E 8pin, two molex to single PCI-E 8pin).
