Looking for car insurance for the past few days and the cheapest one ive found is a company called Insure Modified Car through a broker called Sky Insurance under written by a company caller causer ( i think she said ).

Ive never heard of this company before and when i spoke to them they said they only used to deal with modified cars and they are now branching out to standard cars

Has any one heard of them

Thanks

Never used them, but they're supposed to be pretty good for specialist cars - i.e. heavily modified/imports etc. a lot of owners clubs recommend them.

I've used them for several years. They come highly recommended in the specialist car area. The underwriter mentioned was probably Chaucer - a couple of my policies have used them.

I was poking around the Corsa owners forum yesterday and they are a featured and recommended insurer, they guy replies to post (last was May) and has been on that forum since 09. Lost of contact details on the first page and last post.

Sign up to that forum and you get 20% off, as they say car owners who are members of owner forums or motoring forum tend to be safer drivers and they have stats to back it up, so give the discount.

Used them before, Chaucer is the company they're on about.

Sky, Brentacre, Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Chris Knott, A-Plan - some of the usual similar companies.

I have used them in the past.

Solid insurers and easy to deal with. Again found through a car forum I use as a trader.

Yep using them at the moment - although never had to make a claim through them. Again recommended through forums

Sky have been my broker for about 3-4 years now - my policies have previously been underwritten by Chaucer.

Certainly no harm in going with them :)

Haven't used them, but many people on the Honda forums use them. Personally, I went with Chris Knott

I found with some of them you had to have two years ncb to even be considered by them sadly.

Makes sense but it was something I'd never thought about until I had no ncb.

I am currently insured with sky and they are excellent.

They are probably the best insurers for performance/modified cars and have a lot of affiliations with various car clubs.
